I price my products based on what it costs me to make them, not on how much my customers have to spend. I harvest or contract out harvesting of resources I need so I can keep my costs down, this way I can keep my sale prices at or under 5 CPU and still make a fair profit. Look at it this way; In the real world would you walk into a car dealership and expect them to price their cars on what cash you have in your pocket/bank account? If so please let me know when you find one that does this kind of pricing because I could use a new car!

Economics obviously isnt your strong point . I think the poster is talking about a game wide recession.

If everyone in the world cant afford a car, the car maunfaturers will drop their prices, so will the car dealers.

I think this solo-group nerf will mainly only effect armour and buff prices tho i.e what combat oreintated classes need to make their now nerfed source of income. The poster assumes everyone makes money from solo grouping.

Personally I dont see prices dropping that much if at all. FYI with the nerf, credit loot from all mobs increased.

Not there is not any resource on any server that I know of that has ever gone about 135 cpu. Agv is 5cpu. But I see all these new guys belittling there own profession. Just boggles the mind to be honest.

Bloodfin must be loads cheaper than Ahazi; Docs/doc-medicine-crafters were recently offering up to 280 cpu for then-current Corellian Avian Meat, and 200 cpu for then-current Lok Avian meat.

Ouch!

Just for reference, i charge 4 cpu for Chassis and 15 cpu for any component (missiles, engines, whatever) I harvest all my own resources, so I like to deliver a lower price, however, since I do not BUY any resources, my profit margin is still high. If you are buying resources, you may want to adjust obviously. Or get a guild that sells you resources for wicked cheap Like i do I think 4cpu is fairly good anyhow though and 15 is higher than some, but pretty average for components. Handbuilding components is annoying, so i charge a little more for annoyance fee.

No, not everyone makes money from solo grouping. However, theortically, everyone made money BECAUSE of solo grouping.

Its a trickle up effect. Solo groups, are acutally just very high paying missions. Missions are (up until recently), the single largest source of credits entering the game.

Solo grouping sort of spawned all sorts of weird markets in the econmy. Weapons and armors the msot obvious, but all that money eventually filters to the crafters. Everyone felt the effects of solo groups. From the various smiths, to the organic harvesters selling avian meat for 200 CPU so doc's could make buff packs.

Right now theres still alot of fat cash reserves. So i dont see prices going down for sometime because most of the money entering the game doesnt leave it.

New money might not be entering into the market but not as much was leaving. The money from all the past solo groups just been shuffled around from crafter to crafter. What it might mean is that the demand for ships might go up as the combat profs move from ground to space for income. as for the pricing of the ships, I tend to keep the chasis on the lower cost side since if they do not have the frame they dont need the other parts. Still do not go below 3 CPU on them if can help it but also look at whats selling and what is not. If items fly off shelf and I have to spend week crafting replacements then I jack up the price. IF items fall off vendors and have to be reupped then lower the price when I reup them. Never been one of those that goes to bed leaving char in a starport shouting where my shop is or run on boards and touting the wares. Guess will leave that to the Wal-Marts of SWG and keep my 'mom & pop' store aspect.

thanks for all the replies guys, seems abit 50-50 on the responses, but i can see where both sides are coming from. Yeah i think combat in space and selling loot to chassis dealer is going to be the "New Solo group for Cash". Think i'll keep my prices at 3-4CPU on chassis for the moment. once again thank you for all our input

Also remeber that while most do not pay atention there is decay in space. Every time you repair a ship or component seems that the max hp goes down. Though for ship chasis not as big a deal till people find that tgey have a 1/1 hp on their ship and a harsh look from a z-95 will send them to the shipyard.

*shudders*
if thats the case i predict a shortage in raw materials, finished products, and a price tag to match on both. Glad i already am well established in space
