Harsh, to say the least. But i cant say im suprised really. Shipwrights have had the hard watching eye of the dev upon us since conception. And we have some dubious restrictions imposed on us as such. To give folks some perspective, the way they are handling the SW skilltapes would be like if the weaponsmiths tapes were split up into melee, ranged, bounty hunter, commando, and exotic (for experimentation AND repair because there are 10 categories for sw goods). Kinda wacked imho, but again it doesnt surprise me. Although for all i know they HAVE done this toweaponsmith tapes on test.
The real mystifying thing here is that the things that SW's make have such a less impact on the game compared to ground crafters, considering the VAST majority of players still stay on the ground. And yet the SW's have been extremely limited and monitored in the maximum possible quality/usefullness of their products. Its a real shame and totally uncalled for. And no i think space loot is just fine how it is. The devs just need to bump up the quality of the SW crated items a bit to bring them in line. But thats another thread entirely
With all that said however, i still love SW, just wish we could make better stuff that was desirable to higher level pilots.
I'd just perfer they keep them out. I like a level playing field since it would make my job easier. Now in addition to all the high quality resources I need, in addition to the 10specific named JTL resources, I'm going to have to content with multiple crafting suits? Well since there is no money in SW anyways, I guess these SEAs should be pretty cheap to come by.

If they do go live, I'd hope they could be looted in space as well as on the ground. you know, maybe that freighter's cargo had one in a box that survived its destruction, or something.

Considering how little SW experimentation impacts our final product they should let SW's get 5-10 extra experiment points from the tapes. That 'might' let us start making good stuff.

Alternatively, you could focus on one area of shipwright.
Remember, in the real world, the president of Toyota does not build each car himself.
^^For real. I like it actually. Why should you get hooked up with just a generic SEA that gives you 2 points in all areas, because you want to snuff out everyone else in every area? This way if some SW gets lucky they're not that lucky (they only excell at one area) therefore others can still stay in buisness too.
pffft. Stop wanting to become god already.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
please dear god, no no no no. why oh why? /cry
the ONLY thing that still will keep me happy after CU is space. my alt, is a SW. i only got the alt to HAVE a SW. as most of us dont make much money from SW (i made only about 9mil net so far - that includs 5 from a KSE - over the past 6 months, i jsut got my free resourse deed yesterday) i dont want to even have to think about this...
so again NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Well the idea of specializing on a certain component type is intressting concept. And with the skilltapes maby you could have people that do not master shipwright that still make desent components. That would allow more diversity (seems to be the keyword these days from the DEVs
).
Having said that Im not going crazy with joy from this. One of the strongest parts of the SW profession was the fact that you didnt require any aprons or skilltapes. I love that! Adding skilltapes will only be a moneysink for SW. All dedicated SW will get skilltapes and then after awhile the market is in balance again and all have a buch of maxed out Skilltaped outfits.
Samething with FSCrafting. That only created a temporary inballance and then all WS and AS got the FSskills and they all returned to balance again
