I say, the easiest way is to name the items..

I name my items like this:

Reactor Mark 4 (original name) w. Reactor Overcharger M4 Upgrade. And so on. This way the customer knows exactly what upgrade and which level I used. I also map my prices to the item and upgrade level.

cheers

Mark I = Cert 1

Mark II = Cert II & III

Mark III = Cert IV and V

Mark IV = Cert VI and VII

Mark V = Cert VIII and IX

Mark VI = Cert X

This is the system in-game already for loot.

Look at the "Mark" loot you get.

If you craft a MARK 3 you'd get a mark 3... either 4 (no upgrade) or 5 (enhanced).

Why are you complicating the basic, simple idea with numbers all over the place?

Anyway the idea is there, like it or don't, I'm done talking in circles and explaining 10 different ways something that is already in existance and in the game, just not for SW's.
