Thread: New Shipwright Pricing
May I suggest that "you" just price where "you" feel comfortable with and "not" worry about any competitors pricing?
If you price to sell, then you might have many customers, but what else can you do besides craft and mine? That sort of life is not too fun.
You'll basically need to stock @1mil units of steel at all times, which means your harvesters are running almost all the time. You'll basically need to stock @500k or ore (Carbonate/Siliclastic/Extrusive & Intrusive). Don't forget @250k or so of Aluminum or the @250k or so of Polymer or @250k or so of Fiberplast or @150k or so of Iron, or @150k or so of Inert Gas. Oh yeah...you got to also stock High Grade Poly Radioactive, Conductive Borcarbitic Copper, Perovskitic Aluminum, Crystallized Bicorbantium Steel, and Unstable Organometallic Reactive Gas.
So what are your opportunity costs of undertaking all of this? You will outlay millions of credits worth of resources to be a viable SW.
If you can sell these resources on the open market at 3cpu or more, why would one ever consider selling a specialized crafted product for anything less than that?
Just my thoughts...I've endured 4 active shipwrights in my town, now I'm the last active one. My prices are not the most expensive or the cheapest. What I do have is consistency, product, and customer service. That's what will be your ticket to enjoying the trade and enjoying the game.
