On Bloodfin we sell crafted parts for 11 cpu, we started out at 7 cpu, but couldn't keep anything on the shelves (people still compliment our low prices). At this price you'll find that very nice low level crafted items are still very affordable for new players(especially if they sell a few loot parts to the chassis dealer). We sell the RE'd stuff for much less. We keep a massive stock (1500 items or so) on our vendors and we make 50 - 100 sales a day (more on weekends). We only use high quality resources and the huge number of resources we use means we have to go out and buy resources at 4 to 5 cpu despite having a massive static field and alot of moveable ones. Customers appreciate one stop shopping, they appreciate you answering there questions and helping squeeze every last bit of performance into the mass of their ships.

RoTW has caused a massive boom in starcraft sales.

Crafted parts are now much better than they used to be.

Do a galaxy search, check out how few well stocked shipwrights there actually are.

Realize how much work goes into making a good shipwright shop (it takes us 12hrs to do even a decent restock).

Understand that a good shipwright is the rarest of commodities (take a look at how few AS's are willing to sit around and hand-craft faction armor and then realize you have to do everything this way)

If you haven't already go master pilot so you understand your customers needs.

Treat your customers with respect and give them what they want.

Stick to your prices. We suffered through a long period of serious low-balling, we charged what we needed to charge to stay in business. The low-ballers went broke, couldn't keep up with resource needs etc. and we're still around to service the community and greet customers with a well stocked vendor.

I can't tell you how much kindness and appreciation we get from customers for actually having what they need and for taking the time to help them out.
