Thread: What is the best selling crafted weapon?

An REd level 8 reward gun will always outdamage an experimental blaster. We all know that. I know what you are saying, I agree with you. I use REd L6 blasters on my JSF instead of crafted ones. A lot more damage for a lot less mass than Advanced blasters. Until I had enough parts to RE a second good one, I used a crafted blaster.

Your example is slightly flawed because you only show MAX damage, not AVERAGE. The minimum damage is important too. As well, your example crafted experimental is just ok. The ones I build do about 500 more DPS. 1909-3092 0.25 refire 0.505 vs. Your example REd L8 does outdamage my experimentals, but not by as much a margin as your example.

Nevertheless, this post was to discuss the best selling crafted blaster. It morphed into the best damaging crafted blaster. If I could easily mass produce REd level 8 reward guns, that is what I would sell. How many hours of flying time do you have to put in to loot the right 7 guns to RE one good L8 gun? How many hours to collect 3 of them for an X-Wing or Kryat?

Long story short, best selling crafted blaster is the one customers think they want. Max damage or fastest refire.

I didn't mean to hijack the thread, but I keep seeing shipwrights claim that they produce Crafted guns that outstrip RE'd guns.

I have never seen or heard of a SW claiming that myself. Most looted guns, yes, but definately not REd guns.

It doesn't matter how fast you fire, it only matters how much damage you can deliver to the target per shot, not per second. The per second arguement is completely valid for Post_CU ground combat, but not for space combat where the size of the hit-box and the skill of the shooter matters. Ground combat is roll-hit/miss-damage. Space combat is AIM-hit/miss-damage.

Remember too, if you're firing more often you have a better chance of hitting. I guess it matters more for big things like Decimators/Novas, gunboats and mercenary cruisers. Since nearly every shot hits, the higher damage-per-second shooter takes it down faster. Nevertheless, an REd level 8 gun SHOULD have a higher damage-per-second than any crafted Experimental, so the REd gun will be better if the SW who REd it didn't do something stupid. Plus it should be a lot lighter too.

I usually get at least 1 L8 gun every time I go up.

That's not a bad rate. How long are you up for? Where do you go?

If you have a mostly un-educated crowd, they'll want those damage numbers (min and max) to be as high as possible.
If you have some skilled pilots that know a bit about DPS, they'll want those 0.25/0.26 guns.

I might have misunderstood Nearro in this post. It's possible he meant crafted weapons and not RE'd.

I'm accustomed to the Krayt and Rihkx with 4 guns and 3 guns respectively. Refire rate just means that I would get one more shot off per second, but with a lower damage potential. At nearly 12 and 9 shots per second, refire rate is almost moot, especially with those damage numbers.

I usually go up for about an hour, and there is a pair of tier 4 spawns within 3k meters of each other over Endor. Black Sun Ixiyens. Finish off one point and the other is just about full again.
