Thread: What is the best selling crafted weapon?

If you have a lot of PvPers, Ion Cannons will sell extremely well.
If you have a lot of PvEers, Blasters will sell really well.
If you have a mostly un-educated crowd, they'll want those damage numbers (min and max) to be as high as possible.
If you have some skilled pilots that know a bit about DPS, they'll want those 0.25/0.26 guns.
As far as level ranges, the Advanced and Experimental are about par for me. Typically stay pretty even in sales.
Shields and engines sell almost as quickly.

The most popular sellers on my shop are the .249 speed Guns. Although as mentioned earlier, those that do not know about speed, want the High Damage weapons, so I put some of those up as well.
If you use 1 less experimentation point on refire, are you getting 0.254 refire? There is no difference between 0.249 and 0.254. They both round to 0.25 when you load them and launch.

True, but it looks better to the customer.

Definately the driving end of our market. It's not what we know crafts better, it's what people are willing to pay for. The same person that drops 100k for a 0.249 probably won't drop it on a 0.254. Does that 0.005 make any difference at all in the end? Nope. Does it make any difference to the majority of the new shoppers? You'd better believe it.
As a rule, you want to make in the beginning what you think the customers will want and after reviewing your emails for sales, you then start making what you know the customers want.
I have a few shipwrights on the same planet that I try to recommend for things I do not carry, but for the most part, I have 6 parts of each of the Mark II to V components, and 10 of each of the lasers. No more, no less [ unless sold ].
The parts are either mass redux { for the customer looking for something that just fits in the slot they missing } and stat enhanced { varies on parts, engine speed, reactor energy, etc etc }.
Weapons as mentioned are both speed and damage. Ions, Disruptors, Green and Red.
The rules are the same on all servers, try to provide what the customers need and if you do not carry that, know where you can send them for those that can.
We shipwrights are a dying community for those that have stocked shops, helping each other is the only way to not burn out in the end.
Number 1 rule of sales: You are not the buyer. Sell items that the customer wants or try to educate them on better items.
Always respect your customer. Find what they are looking for. If they say they want the fastest gun, explain the decimals to them. If they don't want to hear it, don't get angry with them, it is thier hard earned credits. If they want a gun with maxed out dmg, explain to them that a fast gun will deal more dmg. Just don't confuse or insult the customer with usless info. Remember, you are the crafter. You have a greater understanding of the mechanics. Most pilots just point thier guns and shoot. The faster the enemies dies, the happier they are.
If you really want them to understand, provide them with two different guns with the different stats and tell them to compair for themselves. Offer to buy the undwanted gun back when they are done testing. This will provide them first hand proof and I gurantee you will always have that pilots business and all his friends business.
