Ive been a SW since it came around and I have only gotten 2 discs. I would have to say ive done around 700 parts. It feels like your doing this for the slim possibility of getting something. kinda hard to keep on doing it constantly but my guildies supply me with a constant flow of parts so I just Re them and hope for the best.

i've gotten four parts so far, none from 8-10 parts all disks came from 1-4 parts. only one "double". but like all you it's taken hundreds and hundreds of RE'ing

I dont know why SW's bother trying to sell RE'd parts..I mean the effort involved in going thru them all isnt worth it, especially when the difference between an Re & crafted is only marginally better.

Unless I get a uber part from RE'in all my parts are going back to the chassis broker..all I really want are Firespray parts from the effort, and the occasional really good part ..all that other marginal junk can get out of my shop.

Your Conclusion has nothing to do with the end products, nor the process itself, but... with the little toy buried inside a box of cracker jacks.

Its al about luck and trading what you have extra of for what you dont have. I got a complete schem in about three weeks after JTL went live. I have since stopped trying. So not sure how much more difficult it is if any at all. My guess is the influx of parts has just decreased.

I really wish people would stick ALL the non REed parts they don't want on the bazaar. It would make my life alot simpler!

Yes, because as a pilot i hoard 3 houses of parts waiting to RE and outfit my 5 other ships. I wish I could find a supply of parts I need, and then the ship wrights rE them. Not before....

I could buy REed parts from shipwrights but they don't usually take the time to amke sure the oparts they produce is of the best parts to RE. We pilots however have a vested interest in REing the best parts. Thus we hoard parts. and only go to SW when we need REing. If a SW had parts waiting for me to use I might go to them before, i need their services, but all there parts are always REed when i get there......

Personaly, just about the only thing I regularly sell is RE'd parts (other than Mining Tools and a few different type of Ship Chassis -- Mostly Heavy Mass Variants), And, of those parts I sell, they are generaly Components I won't use for Either of my pilots. I know that I WON'T sell Non-RE'd parts. I Don't feel it helps the New Pilots to plug a non-Reverse Engineered Lvl I - V Weapon into their ship, and, Since I recently started a second Pilot, it was very nice taking parts from stock and outfitting my ships as I went up, VERY happy vs. the first time I went this route.

On the Higher level stuff I am even more discriminate about what I RE. Selling parts that haven't been processed is simply... taking the time to harvest resources and then throwing them away. It would leave me in the same boat; Having to Search the Galatic Vendors and Buying them for some one else. Since you are often looking for Crappy parts just for their Low Mass Stat, or energy per shot, or some other stat, or, simply as filler when all your Stats are covered, no Loot Drop is clearly labeled as "Junk". And, You DON'T want to sell your High Stat Parts, that would make no sense, not when it could really tweak the End Product toward the Uber end, or, even the High Side.

I also Cruise the Vendors, time to time, looking for non RE'd parts. Most of the time on my server those items are sold with a random assortment of ground loot, and rarely, if ever, do they come from Ship Wrights.

I have had plenty of success with KSE schemetiac drops.

My story: I play 3-5 hours per night, almost exclusively in space since JTL. I am a master shipwright and pilot. I do not play every other weekend. I have at any given time 2-3 pilots selling me their loot (usually the junk...so I don't want to hear the whining about lack of loot parts on vendors, plus we don't have the space for all that...). I RE mostly low level parts (they are more abundant, duh) and DO NOT RE when the RED bug is in place (except L1 parts and crap I just want to get rid of), namely since RotW launch.

My KSE Drops: I have completed 3 complete KSE Schematics (24 discs), and have a bag on my vendor with another 23 discs. I have tried all the theories, all the same parts, start with KSE part, all KSE parts, blah blah blah. No noticable replication of effects EXCEPT: When I RE a part, and it drops a disc, any subsequent RE parts of identical nature, ALL DROP A DISC! I have done this 3 times, all with level 1 parts. 2 times I got 2 discs, the third time, I had 3 parts with the same name, all three dropped a disc. I have tried to coordinate this with a few SW friends I have on Radiant, but we have not been able to get the same parts at the same time.

I'm not doing this to brag or anything, it is just that the majority of posts (by nature) on forums is negative (why post when nothing is wrong?). I'm just trying to put out a postivie message, to let the hundreds of other shipwrights out there not be discouraged. We are getting KSE schematic drops. Just keep at it.

(edit for flamers, yes, I know I spell 'Disk' wrong...deal with it...I like the way 'disc' looks... BAH!)

Nice Post! Though KSE disks are NOT my priority when REing, I will definately look for this. Level 1 parts I DO generally RE just for the chance of a Disk dropping, as, what else is there to do with them?

I was one of the first MSW's on our server and spent the first few months without seeing a single disk no matter how much I RE'ed. I had given up shipwright for a bit, and picked it back up again after they nerfed the hell outta armorsmith.

I have since pulled a single disk during a session, then a couple of weeks later I pulled 3-4 disks in a single session and have found a few others ocassionally since then. I now have most of the set, but spent a long time without a single disk so it would appear to be totally random. I've probably re'ed parts in the thousands at this point and still have yet to get a full set of disks but at least I'm making progress now. I probably average 1 disk to every 200-300 or so i would guess.

Oh and I don't recall the link but I read somewhere that you have a chance to get a disk anytime you create an RE component, it doesn't matter how many components it takes to RE it, that will not increase your chances. So if you have a lvl10 RE you stand the same exact chance of getting a diskas if you had a lvl1 RE.

I've been pretty lucky and just finished my 4th set of schematics.. so Ill share a few tips.

1 - only RE level 1's.. trust me, its an equal change per RE and level has no effect.

2 - schematic drop is streaky.. if you are getting a disc every 100 RE's, then keep REing. Your luck seems to stay with you somehow. When I go through 100 and get nothing, I stop for the day. I have no evidence to back this up, only from experience.

3 - trade and buy.. you can use a vendor search to find missing discs, and trade extras with other SWs. I've seen some cases where you get a streak of a certain number... or certain numbers are more rare. It may just be bad luck, but it happens to me too much for me to think there isnt more to it.

Here is an FAQ from a while back for further questions:

Hope it helps, good luck

So does everyone recommend hording loot until you can do tons of REing or just REing when you have everything you need?
