OQ 999 CD 620?!?!?! /drool I did a search on SWGCraft, is this Duroutigi? Too bad the UT is only 81. The components will rock, but their mass will be a bit high. Excellent steel for subcomponents though.

The resource caps were probably only stored in the server side process used for the resource shift. When they needed the caps for crafting I suspect they created a new list with the resource type/group and caps for each stat.
So here is what I believe happened:
They added all the specific resource types like Duralloy Steel, Bilal Inert Gas, etc. Then they added a few groups as well. Definately Steel, Copper, Iron and Aluminium. I'm not sure how far they got with this. But they didn't take it to the next level with Non-Ferrous or Ferrous Metal.
So Ore groups like Carbonate, Siliclastic, Extrusive and Intrusive are most likely on the list. Igneous and Sedimentary are not. Likewise Conifer, Evergreen and Decidious may also be on the list, but not generic Wood. The only way to be sure is to test it and do the math.
And the group caps were probably added manually so there could be some typos in them...
When they added Steel, they ignored the uncapped JTL Steel types and just copied the Duralloy caps. This means that for example any Hardened Arveshium CD at 650 or higher is considered 650 in a Steel box. We had a CD 998OQ 808Crystallized on our server whichdropped a bitin value after these crafting changes.
Generally if a Duralloy spawns with high OQ, grab as much as you can. Theoretically a Carbonite can be better since it can reach the lower 30% of the Duralloy ranges, but that is extremely rare. Still on Tempest the best Duralloy OQ ever is 888, so our HR 965 OQ 954 SR 929 UT 927 Carbonite is still the best on any OQ with HR/SR/UT combination.
