Hah! That's what you get for joining the Empire. All of your ships are basically military issue, and the empire does not believe in decoration. Plain white Stormtrooper Armor. Plain gray uniforms. Plain gray Star Destroyers.
The Empire = Conformity.

I feel so left out with my Black Sun fighters. They get like two little lines painted, and the rest is left white :-/

I guess I could ask you this in /gu rather than here - but while its on my mind...
Am I doing it wrong by applying texture kit first - before the pain kit? Do I need to di it the other way arround? Or is that my kits are just low lvl and coverting small % of ship...

I would love to see a guide made up like this with every ship, with every style, with every texture
. That would buy a ship and texture kit less of a shot in the dark.

too bad the kits dont texture every ship the samesigh
Are you crazy? How boring would that be? I love that fact that each ship has its own particular paint schemes. Heck, they're all so different in shape and size that it would be almost impossible to make the same paint schemes across all ships, even if you wanted to!
oh i totally agree with you i was just trying to say that the picture is miss leading cause thats only how the kits texture that specific ship and trying to inform people that if they have some other ship the texture effects wont be the same.

Am I supposed to use 20 paint kits to paint the whole ship or is it just Borked like most of the game?
Neither. The different texture packs allow you to cover more parts of the ship, in different patterns. So, now that you've set the colors, you can apply whatever paint scheme you want to your ship, and the colors will carry over. The default texture is usually very spare on the color. You have to get to texture kit 3 or higher on most chassis to start seeing more coverage.

OK:
1. You wouldn't have the pic of it with just paint applied - before textures?
2. How do you get the different ones - I click on texture kit and it gets applied - how do you get the different ones? Does it A) Depend on the level (and do you have to be certified to use / apply or just to make) of the Texture kit or B) Depend on how many times you use a texture kit - i.e. for No.4 X wing - you use 4 Texture kits one after another? (I so want that No.4 X wing with rebel logo - but it seems that the wings are not evenly simetricly colored.... And that No.3 X Wing so looks like my 3 year old son colored it lol!
Thanks!

Heh, you could ask all this in /gu, but it's useful information for everyone, so I dont mind answering here. Here's the deal on texture kits and paint kits:
• Paint Kits allow you to Choose a Primary and a Secondary color for a single ship that you own. Once you have chosen both of these colors, the paint kit is expended.
• The Texture kits are what you use to apply a paint "style" to your ship.
• There are 6 texture kits which can be applied to your ship. Each type of texture kit can only apply a single paint style, using your existing colors, to your whole ship.
• For example, if you want to apply Paint Style 4 to your ship, you only need to purchase one texture kit, but it must be the Style 4 version.
• In some instances, one or both of the default paint colors for your ship will be the same color as the hull. This means that you will only see a small part of your ship's color change with the application of each new texture kit, or you may see no change at all in the case of both default colors being the same as the default hull color.
The name "Texture" pretty clearly refers to the texture that will be used to render your ship's exterior by the 3d engine. Personally, I'm a bit disappointed about the fact that they've named it what is clearly a name that makes sense within the context of the real world and the game engine, rather than something that makes sense within the context of the game itself. Something like "Paint Scheme Applicator Assembly, Style 1" would be much more preferable, in my opinion.

And here I thought the Black Sun ships looked cool with the texture kits (before they were broken). They dont look nearly as good as those X-Wing textures...
