Only for me, the randomness is part of the fun. Remove it, and crafting really becomes dull. How about this:
For factory crafting, remove the randomness of crafting. Grant sucesses. For handcrafting give the full range of succes from crit fail to amazing succes.

In this way, factory crafting and hand crafting give similar results on the average, only hand crafting gives a chance of exeptional items and absymal fails.

This would probably also work for me.

You bet! That would get my vote for sure!

Great, I did not think we would be able to find a compromise.

Now we need to convince erverybody else . Especially the devs.

OK, we know your preference, good, now how about everyone else getting the playstyle they prefer? Or should we all conform to you? If you spent as much time crafting ingame as you do spamming this thread, you might find you're more able to sell things ingame and stop blaming others' use of factories for your own lack of effort and creativity.

1st, in the mail you are partly quoting, I was actually making a suggestion for a compromise. Which seemed acceptable for at last one factory supporter.
2nd, I am not complaining about my sales at the moment, thank you.
3rd, I am not alone with my preferences, and also not the only one in this discussion, so i would not call it spamming.

Yes, I am looking for solutions, that can satisfy a majority of the players. More, then the 56% (if I remember correctly) majority, that voted against factories.

Actualy I too would have to say sure give full factory suport if factory items were in some way limited in how good they could be compared to hand crafted. You are given the option of a huge well stocked store that has everything you could ever want or you go to a specialty shop that has those items that are made by hand and with care to make them the best that they can be. Factories speed things up and automate alot but are not perfect. They should have jams or errors as well but think that capping the quality that an automated system can make compared tohand crafted would be a compromize and something that could be behind. Would even go so far as to add make it based on the complexity of the item what the cap is thus the smaller components could have next to no difference between factory and hand produced but the more complex the item the more prone to defects in automation. Make the complexity count for more than just the time it takes the factory to produce it.

< You persist in making a point that doesn't seem to have support. I can't think of many players I'm familiar with who would support removing factories from their crafting experience, or as someone else pointed out, harvesters either. Seems way off from what most would support, but you keep hammering it. Also, it appears that of those posting here, they're not supporting you. Lets move on. >

Um...

I'm not repeating what Niacia is saying because Niacia is saying it as succinctly as it can be said.

But just so you feel better:

I echo everything that Niacia says.

If there is large-scale factory support, then you are upping the amount of items on each vendor. In turn means that people won't have to shop around. They find the 1 super-store, and never go elsewhere. People who are positioned well, geographically (such as just outside Coronet), 'win'. People with shops in Player Cities 'lose'.

If you cannot see that Factory Support will have a large impact on the game, then I'm sorry for your trouble. Look harder. Think more.

And as a weaponsmith: Yes, actually, I'd quite happily see factory support in WS dropped to what it is in SW: Components (and grenades) only.

Fundamentally opposed to the SWG GR (Game Revamp) - Fix Classic SWG incrementally rather than embarking on balancing a New SWG from scratch - Players have suffered enuf for 2 yrs., time to build on strengths, thanks! - CLICK HERE

===================SIG================
Management change and credibility is expected & deserved, and really a requirement for me to desire to log in and not have my MMORPG time completely wasted. SWG's mismanagement, ongoing, lacks credibility. I have no desire to log into my toon, attempt to accomplish something, only to find out that my blue zebra, 12th level, with 20 badges, isn't going to be turned into tomorrow's 4th tier yellow monkey, and all the zebra's stuff is no longer of value. Without credibility, its just a duck hunt game that doesn't even keep score of how many shots land on a duck.
