since I don't pay for any resources, you're right I don't understand. Why would I pay 10CPU for UBER resources, when I have harvest them for free (aside from maintainence costs) you're right, I know nothing, that must be why I'm making about 2 million a day over ther last 2-3 days. Have fun shopping. I'm going to go start making ships for free. that's right free. if the customer provides the resources I'll do it for them free of charge. just to pi$$ you gougers off. I think it's funny that you think I'm going out of business, when I've been able to go from no merchant at all to 3-3-3-3 within 3 days from people visiting my shop. Go gouge, I'm going to go have fun.

What if the resource you looking for and need is'nt around at that time and has'nt been for months. What do you do then ? you have to BUY it from someone who DOES have it. This costs MONEY and 10cpu is a BARGIN if you want the best. Btw I have ALLWAYS toldpeople if they bring me the resources i will build it for FREE. So you a tadslow on that one as usual. You may of had lots of people visting but how many actually got stuff from you. Merchant xp is based on how many people LOOK at your vendor not how many buy. Wow 2 millionand how many resources did it cost you to get that 2million or more ? I don't gouge, i never have but as i have stated many timeswhy should i takea resourethat will sell at x and then take time and effort to turn it in somethingand sell it for20% of x. Whats the point?.BTW i have loads of FUN. Most of my fun comes from makeing the best thing i can make. This requries that i have the best resourcesI can mine or BUY. If i buy something for 10cpu. I'm sure as hell not going to make something with it and then sell it for 2cpu.Whats thepoint.IF i do this will not be able to buy any more stuff and therefore not be able to make the best i can do. This ruins my fun.

I would just like to see this arguement continue on into perpetuity.
/FanningTheFlames.

Can all the shipwrights on the 'lowball/screw the economy' form one guild and all shipwrights in the 'chargeTheMax/ screw the pilots' group form another, and we'll all PvP and guildwar and forget about actually harvesting, crafting and building ships.

These threads are like politics. No one is going to convince anyone to change their core beliefs or pricing strategies. It's hilarious and sad at the same time how worked up people get over this.

Myself, I'd like to make good ships to fly and sell enough to keep myself in supplies enough to Lvl! I'm about keep abreast of my piloting lvl... Shipwright 2-2-2-2, Privateer Pilot 2-3-2-2 and am going to level tonight so I can make myself an updated Ixyien and and X-Wing for my bud.

Millions a day... crazy man! Would mean I could buy enough loot to some day get those Firespray disks. That'd be about the only reason I'd devote that much effort into it... so I could craft a couple Firesprays.

So argue on. Get worked up. Let a game add stress to your lives. Freak out. Have coronaries. B!tch and cuss at people you 'play' with.

That's what it's all about.

I guess my point is this.....I'm happy only making a little more than my costs. My opinion is that you guys trying to get 10-20 cpu for a ship are greedy, and I'm not alone. BUT that's all it is my opinion. only matters in my mind. just as your opinion of me only matters to you. so, go sell your ships, I'll sell mine, and we'll both make money. that's all there is to it. the rest of the discussion is nothing more than a debate. whether you sell 2 ships for 100k a piece, and I sell 4 ships for 50k a piece doesn't matter in the end, does it? I sell in higher quantity, will that last? probably not, but I also don't have any money invested in this. all costs are covered by my sales, I'm not going to lose money, I'm going to make it. if I have to bump it up a bit, I will. but I keep my prices as low as I can and still survive.

Sorry how can you do S/W with OUT investing a LOT of TIME (is money) and Money. Just to get to master costs 6.5MILLION resoruces which even if you havested them is a investment of over 2 milliion credits and several months. But if your time is'nt worthanything to you. Then there is still the 2 million you invested.THE ONLYtimeIEVER charged someone 10cpu for a ship was near the start of JTL when someone asked me to make them a ship with the best resources i had. The stuff i used wasworth at least twice the amount i charged and I was shocked to see that the results where hardly any better than the ones i got when i was grinding to master. Since then I rarely made any (if i did i charged 5cpu)and now only make them if provided with the resources. If provided with resources I make them for FREE. I now stick to makeing components where my stock of uber resources make a BIG difference and i can get what thier worth for them. Even with no advertiseing I need help to keep the vendors stocked. My prices are by no means cheap but when you makes the best you can charge more for it.

Right now, im slowly starting to grind into Shipwright on my alt. Im mining my own resources, since I really cant afford to pay 10 cpu for steel. Im not looking to start a business, as I have to worry about that crap enough at work. I just want to be able to RE my own parts, and provide new Chassis to my guildmates as they need them. however, even mining my own resources, it starts getting expensive. Originally, I was going to start up a vendor and sell Chassis just high enough to recoup my maintence fees and make a tiny profit. but, as of tonight, ive worked out a deal with a master shipwright. The plan is, I sell him my grind level Chassis for 2 cpu. Thats probably double what im spending in maintence fees (if not more). In turn, as an established SW, he can sell for a much better profit than I could, and it helps him focus more on his higher in money makers. So now, I grind out chassis til I run out of resources, sell to him, then let my harvesters catch back up while I play around with my main character in space. Everyone's happy, and I would definately suggest this practice to other up and coming shipwrights. =)

I don't pay 10cpu. and if you do, you are foolish. And I have suppliers that give me a deal for buying in bulk. It's getting pretty clear that there are SW's that have never actually ran a business in RL, or took an economics class. I charge what I know the market can afford. Am I trying to 'corner the market'? No. Am i trying to get EVERY customer in the Galaxy? No. I make more money now than I ever had in this game. I can afford to buy what I want. And I provide a service to other players. I got into this for the sole reason that I knew that people like you guys would over-charge the basic player who would never be able to afford what you sell. Are my ships the best quality? nope, but when it finally decays, My customers don't feel cheated. I'd be willing to bet yours do.

LOL so i'm foolish to pay 10 cpu for the best resources on the server. I think its pretty clear YOUare the one who has NO idea how the resource business works in this game. 10cpu for Uber resources is a BARGIN.So you admit your are lowballing ON PURPOSE for the sole reason to ruin the market for the REAL shipwrights. Strange out of the hundreds geting on now to thouands of customers i have there have been TWO and ONLY TWO complain about the prices and said they could get it much cheaper esle where. I have checked out both of those shops and the components while 1/3 the price of mine where also FAR worse that mine. So much so that my MK2 stuff was 50% better than thier MK4. My mk2 where also CHEAPER than thier MK4 so thier where in fact saveing nothing. Its just looked liked they where. I have hadlaods ofcustomers come back to me, and say thanks for makeing such good stuff i was finaly able to do xyz mission which i could'nt dobefore i used your stuff. If you want to make stuff with crappy resources and sell it cheap thats fine there is room in the market for low end as well as high end. If you want use the best resources in the galaxy and then sell the finished item for10% ofwhat the resourse is worth on its own don't call it a business its not its a CHARITY.
