Thread: Can a Mark IV engine have over 60 YPR?
PYR Acceleration, not PYR speed, is dictated by ship chassis.
I don't have the resources to confirm this.
My iron isn't that good, and I don't have quality Fermionic Siliclastic.
But it *should* be possible with 90%+ resources.

YPR acceleration is determined by the chassis. YPR is determined by the chassis and the engine. This is why the YPR acceleration values were removed from the enginein publish 11.2, but the YPR values themselves remain.

I am looking to have a pair of engines made up for me and I am looking for high pitch and yaw rates. I am willing to sacrifice speed to get the pitch and yaw up.So I have the following questions:What sort of range of values are possible for P & Y with good resources? Is it possible to have a Mark IV engine with 65/65/45 and still get an 80 speed?Since I don't care about mass right now, is there an engine enhancement that increases performance at the cost of increased mass?I don't want to approach a shipwright in game with an unobtainable request. I am trying to feel my way through this so I have a good idea what I am asking for. From what I have read so far I think that what I want might be possible.*crosses fingers*
You can use an Overdrive to get extra speed which will let you experiment elsewhere. A Mark IV overdrive add something like 13.xxxxx speed to the crafted engine.

5 stars for you.
People seem to forget that engines used to list two different YPR values, and only ONE of those values (acceleration i think it was) was removed. If YPR on engine truly made no difference then
1.) as a pilot i woudlnt notice the difference, however i DO.
2.) YPR wouldnt be listed on the engine AT ALL if it made no difference. WHy list stats on a part that do nothing? Doesn't make any sense.
SW,s get it out of your head that YPR does nothing. It does alot more than you folks seem to think.
As an experiment, just to prove it to yourself. go find the crappiest YPR engine you can find.. something in the 40's or lower. Don't use any engine overload, and go run a few quick circuits in a teir 4 duty mission or something. Now, with the same ship, go slap in a high 60, or low 70 YPR engine, and try it again, its a night and day difference.

yes makes a huge difference in flight. i would even go as far as saying..you priority should be a great Y/P/R in lieu of engine speed.
btw, my looted leve 6 eng. is 71/69/69 (ish) and 95.9 speed. its a dream.
That is not loot - it is a reward engine that has been reverse engineered.
It has since been removed from the game and is no longer attainable. It will also eventually decay to nothing. ![]()

Of course YPR is important. We just can't compete with loot on YPR most times. There are still many pilots that request high speed only to come back asking for better YPR. I notice a YPR difference even in a Z95.

yes...reward and the other 5 engines were looted = re'eng'd engine.
still a dream!

I can't seem to get a straight answer out of anyone as to how this is the case. You say it will decay to nothing but every evidence suggests the contrary. The HP/ARMOR will eventually get to .1 but it will never go below that. Other stats are not affected at all.
If you get to .1 does the engine eventually become unrepairable? It would be the first I've heard of it if that is the case. With deep space I don't see how it will ever decay at all.
