I grinded out an Engineering IV, which is what I thought the only requirement of Shipwright, but when I went to go get trained it said I don't have the skills to become a novice shipwright? Do I need all the other Artisan skills at IV too?

You need 30,000 general crafting experience to train noviceif I recall. I'm pretty sure that's the number, could be off a bit.

Yup what he said. You need to gather more xp before you can train novice SW & then switch to grinding SW xp. Good luck

It took me all day to grind out the last 6000xp for eng 3 to 4......you're telling me I gotta grind out another 30000??? OMG, that is enough to make me put this game down.

Will I also need to get level 4 business and the other clothing/tailoring one and become a master artisan?

What are you crafting to gain general xp? If you have the resources switch to Deed for personal mineral harvestors & you get about 450xp per. Yes, its still a bit to grind but not an all day thing.

I was grinding out this thing that did 21 xp/per. I didnt realize I could get that much from deeds. Right now the 2 deeds I can make are personal vapour moisturizer and wind power generator............which should I grind?

Do you just do practice deeds are do you actually build them....cuz they really are worth a few bucks at the bazaar.

Craft all the ones you think you can sell, but I would recommend doing them in practice mode as you'll get about 10% more XP that way.

depends on what you have for resource and if you take the time to experiment each one. It's my feeling if you aren't making 4BER personal harvesters, you are ripping people off, no matter what the price, so it's usually not worth the hassle and extra time.

Why is it ripping people off? What's the difference a more skilled artisan could make?

If you are using grinding resource and not experimenting, the harvester will have 1-2 BER, the max is 4. selling a 1-2 BER for 6k is a ripoff. the amount of resource they'd get is 1/4 to 1/2 the amount they'd get running a good one. Not a way to build a reputation as a quality vendor, but to each his own.

Well, it's not exactly accurate to call it a ripoff. It's more to the truth to say that no one will buy a 1-3 BER personal harvestor for any price. The onlypersonal harvestorsthat have a chance to sell are the 4 BER ones (or 9 BER for the wind generators).

To the orginal poster, 30K general crafting xp is nothing. Any elite crafting profession is going to require a lot of grinding, though shipwright is actually one of the easier ones if you have all the resources already handy.
