Thread: POB Firespray??

Ok, I was flying my firespray next to my friends YT1300 and to my surprise my ship was VERY comparable in size! Yes a NON-POB Friespray was as large as a POB YT1300. I got to thinking why isnt the Firespray a POB ship? Episode V Boba Fett WALKED into his ship with the body of Han solo on a BOARDING RAMP! This is no mere fighter. Episode II Boba and his father sat in the cockpit of the Firespray ( I'll allow that this is a realistic "modification" considering boba's size ). The various books / Comics have shown boba's cargo areas as well as a cage for his marks. Not to mention the countless times boba has used a ladder to get into and out of his cockpit INSIDE his ship.

What does this mean for SWG? simple. One would say it would be nice to have an internal walking area for the Firespray like the other POB ships. However, I think allowing the Firespray to equip POB components would be easy to implement and also conducive to the various information about the Firespray. It would also fit the current SIZE of this ship in the game. As well as offset the difficulty of the disk grinding needed to aquire this ship, aka make it worth the grind.

Before someone sqeeks "Slave I was a Highly modified version" I would like to remind you that the Chasis of Slave 1 is still a Firespray, and therefore the same Volume.

Because all POB ships have Turrets. No point having multiplayer ships without turrets.

I agree, Ion. I always wanted to be able to move around in my Firespray. The ship's cockpit actually has 3 seats (I think that's all), one on top and two situated below it on another level of the cockpit. Ever read any of the EU books? In The Mandalorian Armor (Bounty Hunter Wars) there was a LOT of interior detail described- From ladder wells to the cargo hold outfitted with small holding cells. I think it would be a great upgrade for RP value.

Veteran Reward Yacht is a MP ship. Can't upgrade it.

Y-Wing standard is a MP ship but can't use PoB parts.

Only thing PoB means is that it has a 5 mil mass. Beyond that it doesn't mean jack.

So yes they could make the Firespray a MP Ship which would mean a higher market for them.

Yep I have all those books. Loved them. It was just some observations. For an Iconic ship its not as capable as one would like.

Statistically the FS isnt anything to write home about. Infact for various reasons, the Oppressor, Krayt and heavy x wing are better choices over a firespray. Inshort, a FS isnt really worth the time or money involved to aquire one.

Long story short, modifying the FS to have a portalized object interior of some sort would make this iconic ship more worthwhile. Obviously its not going to be sporting Elite POB parts, but it should have something which makes it unqiue - and it doesnt.

According to the Essential Guide to Vessels and Vehichles the KSE Firespray, or at least Boba Fett's, has a cargo hold large enough to store one jedi in.

Slave One has a prison that uses those force-nulling slugs so he can transport his Jedi bounty across the galaxy to Darth Vader.

It would be nice if a feature like this were added, for H's and Smugglers to pay for an upgrade to their Firespray.

I'd say no to having it be able to equip the pob parts since it still flies like a fighter. However it would be neat to have the ability to walk around in it.

Well as I pointed out before, Boba's ship was HIGHLY modified. HOWEVER, it is still the basic chasis of a Firespray, and as such SWG's version has fallen far short of accurately depicting this ship.

Considering it's as large as the in game YT1300 ( which people can wander in freely ) and yet still considered a 1 man ship. SWG does not compensate for this tactical "achilles heel". At the moment I am unaware of another ship as difficult to aquire. Yes there are Kashyykk quest ships but anyone can do them. Only a shipwright can make the Firespray after MANY hours of RE'n components to hopefully get a set of 8 disks in a sea of duplicate disks.

The Firespray is: 1) The most difficult ship to aquire. 2) An Iconic ship. 3) Extremely Large without justification or tactical compensation for its size "In Game". 4) Compared to other ships of equal firepower it handles as slow or slower. 5) Unweildy to fire with its offset weapon groups (convergence is less than acceptable).

The Firespray is large, and has convergence issues with its offset weapons. It is a difficult to aquire iconic ship. Despite these factors it has NO significant tactical value over ships of smaller size, similar firepower and handeling capabilities.

In summary; Looking at the numbers, there are far better ships, far easier to aquire. The Firespray does not off set its short falls with any kind of unique or worth while tactical advantage. Especially for what is essentially a Shipwright only quested ship.

I'm sure I'll offend some owners, but before you hang me know that I own one as well and fly it exclusively. Why? I'm fond of it. I like its style.

Well I'd say that yes, the only upgrade that is warranted on the Firespray is that it could be a POB. Alot of people mistake the Firespray for a fighter type vehichle, which it isn't.

As far as it being as big as a YT-1300, nah. Maybe in one dimenion, but in turns of length width and height, the Firespray is small, and also the goofy design means less interior space.

The POB rating would allow it to ue the upcoming POB components which would make it a viable PVP ship.

Umm... I am wondering how a Firespray could fit POB parts (assuming it was allowed). POB parts are around 250k mass (at least the ones I have). That means you wouldn't be able to even fit one part on a 214k mass ship.

Ok straight from WoTC's Mouth (They have the SW RPG License from LA and well have a lot more knowledge of ships than SoE does sadly. (No offense to SoE but fact is fact)

Kuat Systems Engineering Firespray-31 Patrol and Attack Craft

Page 230 of the SW RPG D20 Revised Core Rule Book

Class: SPACE TRANSPORT

Crew: 1

Size: Small (21.5m Long)

Passengers: 6

Cargo Capacity: 70 tons

Slave one has slightly upgrade shields, drastically upgraded Hyperdrive, anda few more weapons. Other than that. They are the same. Oh and a slightly upgraded engine (providing faster speed only)

Corellian Engineering Corporation YT-1300 Transport

Page 230 of the SW RPG D20 Revised Core Rule Book

Class Space Transport

Crew: 1 to 2

Size: Small (26.7m Long)

Passengers: 6

Cargo Capacity: 100 tons

Again differences between stock and Millennium Falcon?

Crew: 2 or 4 (so increase in crew needed)

Hyperdrive

Engine Speed

Shields

Hull

Weapons.

So as you can see YES the Firespray should be a PoB ship. It is not a Starfighter but a Transport just like the YT-1300 and darn near the same size.
