Thread: Too many critical fails during experimentation after Publish ver. 0.114815?

Any Master SW getting alot of critical fails during experimentation after version 0.114815? Steam is coming out of my ears! I had to destroy 5 Mk. V reactors and 1 Mk. V shieldIN A ROWbecause in each one I critical failed at least once during the experimentation. The problem I'm having seems to be more pronounced at the high level components.

I experiment at my shop which is south of Coronet (so no research city bonus) and I don't eat chef food (Bespin Port?) for experimention. I experimented 1 experimentation point at a time. I've never had this problem before. I used to make 20 Mk. V components in a row and about 2 of them I scrap because I failed in experimentation. Could someone confirm that this is also happening to them?

Edit: Crafting station rating is 42.141685 and crafting tool rating is 14.91.

I just made over 40 items with only 1 crit fail during experimentation, so I don't see it. I've always believed that the "random number generator" seemed to get stuck...you probably just got unlucky.

As a baseline, I too used to see about 10% of my components get crit fails. I haven't crafted since the patch, but I'll see how it goes.

Although I have to say, my Mk V reactors ALWAYS give me problems.. I swear I've got a 40-50% failure rate on those. Talk about aggravating.

Ihad 5 of 15attempts fails on Mark V reactors since this patch.... but over all I'm failing less thenI used to, nearly 50% less then whenI started SW.

With low level Components i dont have this Problem but i can agree to this Issue with Mark V. I am using a 15.00 tool and 43.5 station

Thanks for all the replies. I will keep monitoring my experimentations. Maybe I just had one of those bad luck days.

If you did, so did I. I have noticed a significant increase in failures on high end stuff since that patch. I have destroyed my tools and got new ones, they are 14.85, I use bestine port, and all of my resources are well into the green. I am getting a failure rate of 1/3 or close to it on the high end stuff. The low end stuff seems fine. It seems to happen when you experiment the last block or two of the bar and causes it to drop to 0%. I had it happen three times in a row on a Master Level Tie Decimator when I tried to experiment the last block of mass. That is 450k of resources down the drain. The 4th time I just left the last block alone and it was fine.

ok i just crafted a lot of armor platings. I used very good ressources. the armorreinforment panel with ress average stats of 982 and 806 for the two needed steel. i had1 of 3 parts with great sucesses only. The other 2 Parts cacme out with moderate succeses or critical failures. For the final plating i have Ressources over 936, 941 and 944in averrage exept the alu with "only" 843. I did Mark IV Platings and it went as with the powerups. only 1 of 4 Parts came out really good with great sucesses.

I could go on with the history with other stuff i did today.Reallybad Results compared to all other crafting sessions i did. And u can be sureI wasdid like SW but the way its now its only getting me into bad mood after crafting half an hour

But i am lucky.. i just use of my Ress then drop my SW. If u dont have factory support for SW's then make the chance of bad ressults much lower then it is now. Otherways its a waste of good ressources u better sell for good Creds then wasting for crafting.

Sorry SOE but since JTL start u did nothing to fix some main Problems with SW Profession and now i have enough of that. Not worth to get in bad mood while i want to play and have fun.

Going happy grinding now my Commando to skill my FS XP.. oh and thanks again for the discrimination against SW's not beeing able to exchange my SW XP to FS XP

I know some come up with the argument that ground game and JTL is seperated thats why u cant exchange SW XP blabla... But i am sure u can explain me thenwhy my other Char on another Server turned from Nutral to "Rebel on leave" only because he is a Rebel Pilot (JTL Prof). So much to the SOE statement Groundgame and JTL are seperated. ROFL ROFL ROFL.

With me the bad luck happens in waves, usually with the random number generator having a stroke. Overall I've had reasonably decent luck, and not too many crit fails over the last 3 restocks. This is not to say that I didn't get any crit fails. I always do, but recently I haven't noticed an increase yet.

However I will keep an eye out for it, in case I start having the same problem too, I'll definately be here to complain about it. Man I love to complain, it's in my blood.

I forgot an additional Question. For what is the Riskbar on the right Side?

I experiment always with 0% Risk and i am having criticals over and over atm. Isnt that a bit stupid? I mean 0% Risk should give u at least a good succces.....

I believe there is a luck variable that initialises each time you log in - if that rolls bad then you will get more critical failure. My evidence for this is that I have had occassions when I have had 1 in 3 critical fails consistently on experimentation, so I've logged off and immediately logged back in again and as if by magic my success rate rocketed - and this is not an isolated incidence I have done this repeatedly.

I can say I've been failing experiments quite a bit more since the change. I've had to toss several components lately. Maybe one in 15 goes into the bin.

So far today it is 3 out of 15 critical fails on experimentation
