Thread: If you could get 30k of any resource free what would it be?

I just returned to the game to find some nice surprises. I got a free respec to master shipwright/master droid engineer and I have 30k free of any resource I wish. Problem is, I'm too inexperienced to know what I should get. What, for shipwrights, is the ultimate rare resource you always have trouble finding and can never get enough of? Would be excellent if it crossed over with droid engineering too. Thanks in advance.

It really depends on your server and your personal stockpile: what has spawned and currently still available vs what has spawned but is not available.

For me, it would be radioactive. Some really nice, older stuff I would like for custom engines that I don't have.

30K of any one resource won't last you long in shipwright. Sell the 30k resource deed for 3-4 million (depending on your server's economy) and use the money to buy other more recent resources in bulk.

Shipwrights can never sell their resource output for as much as the deed itself could buy them in resources.

On Ahazi, resource deeds goat a price of3M-4M.

To be worth the price of 3M, you would need to sell your 30,000 resources at 100 cpu. The only thing I sell that high is asteroid ore, and doing it that way seems......... wasteful. Quite wasteful. Sure, it's 20 trips up into space, but some weaponsmith out there grinds his teeth every time I say someone has sold me another 30k of diamond asteroid.

In my personal case, that weaponsmith is ME, (*&(*&.

If you're really jones'ing for a stack of a particular type of resources, offer 30 cpu for it. You'll probably get a stack of 100k fairly quickly, which will last you much longer than the original 30k stack would have.

It's all gone. And so am I.

I agree, the first one I got I sold, however... asteroid resources are a nice alternative now. 30k of any of those would be nice. Iron asteroid seems to be the most often used according to our new schematics. Having 30k of that would save a lot of time.

As a note:

If you advertise well enough and meet enough people who want to TRY space mining, you will end up with a lot of Asteroid Iron. People who 'try it once' end up mining quite a bit of it through the quests and are willing to part with it unlike the majorityof miners who are usually shipwrights. (sending tells to people hanging around asteroids doesn't work so well for this reason) Therefore I suggest using the 30k deeds for Petrochem if you're going to use them for anything.

However, if you are on Ahazi, and have a 30k deed, I will definitely trade you 30k of assorted asteroid resources for a single deed.

What weaponsmith schematic do you use space diamonds in? I wasn't even aware that asteroid resources could be used in standard schematics. Thanks.

As a shipwright, you're better off selling this veteran reward. On Chilastra, these are going for 3-5M credits in auctions. These are a favorite amongst weaponsmiths, armorsmiths and Jedi, as their resource requirements aren't as steep as architects and shipwrights. You will not be able to make much with a 30K stack of anything as a shipwright--definitely not enough to make 3-5M credits selling it outright.

You are assuming credits are the primary focus. There is something to be said about being able to make the best possible parts. For this reason I have burned 15 resource deeds on SW resources in order to make parts for me and friends, 5 of which went to asteroid resources. POB parts FTW!

I'd seriously thing about getting the best high-grade polymetric I could. Master level missiles and engine overdrivers needit and the best high-grade polymetric I've found is 700ish OQ and 600ish PE since I started mining around the time of the CU. The quantities needed are around 500 an item as opposed to the 2000 steel per part, so it wouldn't be as bad.

With my luck, I'd do that and the next spawn would give me an easily accessible spawn of 999 OQ 999 PE stuff right in my back yard or something, which also wouldn't make me complain.

...would master the pilot profession if the repeat mastery bug was fixed.
