Thread: Recent looted parts are scaring me

The past two days I noticed alot of really uber parts I looted.
A mark IV capacitor with 1270 capacity, 1190 maintenance, 32k mass, and 47.9 recharge.
A mark IV engine with 68.9 Y/P/R and 89.8 speed. Maint. was 1560 and Mass was 16k.
A mark III booster with top speed of 47.3. Cap was 1990 and consumption was 180.
There are more but I dont want to type the full list.
Needless to say I am a shipwright and next to armor, launchers, and the chassis itself, I have nothing in my ship I crafted because I couldnt craft stuff that good even with the best possible successes and materials.
Anyone else notice loot has changed again?

I understand your concern, even though I'm not a shipwright myself.
When I see the quality of looted parts compared to that of crafted components, it concerns me - but then I rememer armor and doctor buffs.
I'm not trying to start a debate about either of those topics, but the fatc is that the developers never intended the results we saw - 90% composite armor was never intended - ever.
That said, I think this time around they decided to start with the experimental values low and tight - figuring it would be much easier on the player base to loosen them up later if need be.
The net effect is that when they do come in and fix some of this (like the engine speed increase) it is deemed 'helpful' by the community whereas tightening up said system would result in the perception of a 'nerf' or that they were 'taking something away'.
Crafted ship components will get there. Mark my words.

Yep noticed this also. Be nice if they would change teh loot for mandalorian armor and makethat feasable to get.

No. Absolutely not. Thank F'ing god they haven't done that. Every jackass Fett fanboy would have a set and it'd be as lame as comp.

Your logic seems valid-- until you consider the past. They never beef stats, thay ALWAYS NERF.
SO, if anytyhing, expect the loot to get nerfed, and then a nice underground market of uber pre-nerf loot to open up and crush the shipwrights,

Of course, hindsight is 20/20, but what they should have done is made looted components RE into component upgrades.

LOL, and you haven't RE'd any of this stuff? Not only is the looted equiptment better than what I can craft as a Master Shipwright but when you take all of that uber-loot and RE it... Crazy...

Last night, our guild Master Shipwright, Tiomeg, crafted me a MKV Reactor with nearly 50K mass and 18K energy output.
A looted Level 8 reactor still sits in my Nova with 35K mass and a whopping 28K energy output. It's not even RE'd nor is it even close to some other people's looted reactors' power output. That's just wrong.

I haven't looted too much, lately. Were you in a group when you looted? Group size seems to affect loot frequency. I find I easily get 5X as much loot off of the same enemies when I use my Nova with turret gunners versus solo with my A-Wing.

its not just the recent loots that scare me , its all the loots.
I have 1, yup just 1 crafted part in my ship that i made, and thats a mark 1 reactor
we can't hold our own against the majority of space loot, they have killed our proffesion b4 it even had a chance to get off the ground , even if they made changes to stop all these great loot drops, their is to many on each server now , SW are screwed , we have been resigned to missile makers and RE's , and all thoese lovely parts we can make with all the lovely diff ways to craft them , are hopeless if a guy can spend an hour or so in space and loot far better than we can craft
I have 1, yup just 1 crafted part in my ship that i made, and thats a mark 1 reactor

I suggested in beta (no doubt far too late anyway) that loot be subcomponents instead of components...oh, well. There's always the option of being a chassis monkey.
