You missed the fact you need a private crafting station, not the public one.

That's also a HUGE waste of resources, why not make a mix of ships and sell them?

You don't have to dump them for silly credits, you'll only be a few % less quality than a Master SW.

Because some people have more money than patience.

I'm glad someone finally recalculated the resource requirements. Also, it's not like getting a DE to make you a MSE ADV droid with a private ship crafting station inside would be a horrible thing, plus it'd allow you to craft right next to a trainer.

I use a droid most of the time. You might want to add that to the guide. Other than that nice work. It still takes a good deal of effort to get those resources, but that's the magic behind the shipwright profession.

5M in resources at 2 cpu (grind quality from cheap vendor) would cost you 10M. For that kind of money, I would first go get the entertainer buff for shipwright, and take time to experiment on these ships as you craft them. I would also urge making a variety of ships, and putting them on your vendor. If you're lucky, you can almost break even. It's worth the extra time and effort : where else can you earn 10M for a couple hours work? FYI, I'd invest every experiment point you get into mass, and any leftovers (after you get high enough) then into hit points. I'd also do it in a research city with a +44 station using a +15 tool. You can make some good ships.

I recomend harvesting theSteeland Ore yourself. I did it with 4 friends help. Cost me about 2.3 mill to harvest all the steel and ore. That includes the cost of 30 Medium harvesters, the power and matiance to keep them running, and a little bonus for my friends. Takes 15 days to mine that much on a 75% deposits. Plus this way you have harvesters to keep useing after you make master. I did buy all the ~500k unit stuff at 2 cpu. So my total to master was 6.3 mill plus training. Not bad I think. I also made several of each chassy so hopefully I will recoup some of that cost.

Not at all. I used this guide to get Master Shipwright in 1.5 hours (I was taking it a little slow) and thank you for whipping it up for us.

If you don't have patience then you shouldn't be acrafter. It just seems to me that the general mindset of a crafter is motivated by profit, not speed. Whats the rush to master in 30 minutes versus let's say ( on the extreme side to prove a point ) taking 2 days and experimenting every single chassis to the max? You don't have the resources to make anything good this early in your career anyways so you might as well make some of your money back, right?

IRL I make outstanding quality static models mostly of custom automobiles, a craft I started to learn from my grandfather at the age of 4 years old. He drilled into my head at an early age that crafting things is not a race to see who can finish first, but who's is the best when done, that's why it's called "crafting" instead of "racing" .

I've saved this post for a sticky. It is the first guide I've seen that puts in numbers for resources in regard to the shipwright inspiration buff. Very nice work. So don't think it was wasted.

The only waste of time here is anyone telling you that you wasted your time.

I completed MSW a while ago, but for someone to go through and post exactly whats needed to attain MSW, well, thats fantastic! New SWs will appreciate this for certain.

Great job!!

And thanks, of course

BTW, you really have NO idea how long this exact thing has been needed. Notice how quick the Correspondent was to say he was gonna sticky it? Hehe.

Anywho, thanks again.

I've spent roughly 10 months saving up loot for the ultimate fighter...and you're trying to indict me on my lack of PATIENCE?

I'm going MSW mostly for the REing. Over time I'll collect resources. My whole STRATEGY is patience. Also, I only bought my iron, petro, and fiberplast. All the rest I mined myself, the only thing holding me back is waiting out Stagoiam on Eclipse. It's REALLY crappy steel, but seeing as I've got 12 BER13s on a 91-93% spot, I don't think I'll be wanting for grind materials.
