Looks like they implemented everything I posted about re: space mining, except for boarding actions.

I don't care what anyone else says, the SWG dev team rocks.

Quest reward makes sense, you first gain experience with a regular ship and then get the big one.

Do you know if the ship requires a certain pilot level?

I'm not a shipwright, but it appears this feature was done quite well. I like the fact that shipwrights get new stuff to make, and also that the quests and actions make it more than a game of asteroids. I'm not too sure about the "price support" aspect of the resources that are mined.

Looks like a deed...

This is a deed to one of the company's new Y-8 mining vessels. You've earned this, pilot. Take it, along with my gratitude. May it serve you well.

note: it's harder to read what is rewarded in space quests than the new type of ground quest. I can't see directly what is rewarded, so I have to go off this piece of text.

I was sceptical about the space mining when I first heard how it was going to work. But after reading this article, I think I like what i read.

I also like that NPC vendors will buy the resources we don't need/use, and the promise of space resources being used in more and more ground based items as the game progresses.

This could finally be what we need to tie the space game to the ground game.
