as master shipwright, i used almost the best resources spawned along one year to craft Mark 4 components and: except the blasters, armor, shields and rector, the rest is CRAP compared to the looted components i've got from tier 2 and 3 npc starships.
In ground, one in a zilion times u'll find a better T-21 than the one crafted by an weaponsmith +12.... in space, common loot (1 every 20) is better than the one crafted by a master shipwright..
No f. comments...

Yes and when a ship wright finds a better compoent then one then they can craft, you take out a reverse engineering tool so you can improve your crafted ones

problem with RE a novice SW can do it which i think should be changed or there should be a better % as you go up the chain

too bad. getting a comment anyway.
it's true, Engines and capacitors, loot is very often if not nearly always better. Part of the profession is knowing when to craft, and when to use loot.
HOWEVER, using good, but not uber resources, It's very rare that i find a looted Shield, Booster, Armor, weapon, Droid interface, Or reactor that can match what I can craft on the same level. And i have approximately 1000 pieces of loot at my disposal, thanks to my guild loading me down with it all.
So... no, sorry, can't agree.

Isn't there still a RE level? So that the SW REing needs to have the skill it takes to RE good equipment? A Novice could only be able toRE level 1 items if the skill is still there...

As a Pilot I agree, I spent 45mins last night travelling Tatooine lookin for a decent reactor for my tier 1 ship!
I visited loads of shipwrights vendors and eventually got a reactor with over 9k power on the bazzare!! it has like 10500power but now I can power all systems on my ship wooo!

How does RE improve anything we make?
Its more like slicing then anything else, exept it only applys to loot.
Now if they would alow us to put PLAYER MADE2 engines into a analasys tool, 1Overdriverthe other aLimiter combiner there stats. THAT WOULD BE SUPER!!

i make a reactor lvl 7 that is about 15500 power. u shdoul have come to see me. i havent foudn a looted reactor that can beat my crafted ones.

That's how it is supposed to be working. Now, I haven't had a chance to RE anything on the live servers yet, but at the end of beta, that was how it was.
To RE something, you need to place as many same level and typecomponents in the analysis tool as their RE level. The end result should be that all items are lost, but a new, improved component will be created. This component should have the "best" statistics possible from all components placed in the tool. (with a small % bonus).
