At present mayors can't put shipwright trainers in their cities (although reported in beta). Please don't make the SW trainers another BE case (trainers weren't available for months).
Especially now that even more players are frequenting the major cities to get their first pilot missions, to start and land their personal ships, we should try and get as many people out of these laggy places as possible.

The politician correspondant advised us to post here about this issue. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Thanks for the tip ... I put it up there also, though I'm not really in to getting yet another correspondant to respond, since ours is already pressing the matter in the correspondant forums (and as I know the correspondants they are supporting each other).
It's rather about getting the players that play this profession to know, that we mayors can't help them at the moment, and that it could impact negativly on the gameplay (even more lag in major cities).
But you're right, especially the point about impacting gameplay in major cities is a good reason to put it into the Core Systems board ... so you can also support it here.
Thanks

I did ask them to post this on the shipwright forum, so I'll take responsibility for this post
this is not only a politician issue, but it's important to shipwrights also... especially now when everyone's starting out and need trainers. having a trainer in your city instead of having to travel out to train every box would be a big plus for most starting shipwrights, especially when they're already spending all their money on materials
I know there's no correspondent here yet, and I'll bring this issue up with the shipwright correspondent when it's assigned.

I am just guessing on this one, but I think the Devs left Shipwight out of player cities because they are only found at Starports. Given that there are no starports in player cities, it would make sense that there are no shipwright trainers. I would love to see a plan to add a starport to a city with 200 residents though, it would both alleviate some of the pressure in the non player cities and reorganize the planetary maps a good bit as small cities consolidated to meet this goal. Not to mention theaccomplishment of having such an organized city, it seems very difficult to pack more than 100 residents within the zone the city takes up.

Doubt it will happen, simply because this issue was largely ignored when brought up in Beta. However, I will /sign and hope for results. Politicians already get the shaft for the greater part, this certainly is not an outlandish request.

There's no reason for them not to implement it. From a programming standpoint, it's not that hard nor would it take any significant effort.
We need trainers in player cities!
