Hello Shipwrights.
Re: Land Based Resources.
Now that Combat Upgrade has ruined the Doctor profession, I am going to become a wholesale Merchant instead, supplying Shipwrights with resources. Ihave read the Forum postings and understand that Steel, Iron and Petrochemicals areused in large quantites ? But, what are the key stats` that a Shipwright looks for in a resource ? Overall Quality, Decay Resistance, Unit Toughness etc...
Thank you for your patience.
Fond Regards
Emmily

I never have enough steel.
Overall Quality, Unit Toughness and 2 others I can't remember right now.

ANY steel at all,
But we say that because of chassis, and one can't pay much for materials for those and make any money.
This might be a good way to track what kind of things we need.

Yup, what they said, STEEL lots of steel.
Oh ya it takes over 2 mill units of steel to grind sw and over 3 mill units of other resources.

Apart from the obvious (=steel), inert gas (OQ) and (high grade polymetric) radioactives (OQ, PE) are not to be underestimated. And alu (OQ, UT, COND) is needed in many items, too.
Good ore is fairly easy to get, as Katrium, Vintrium and Zinsiam ore have pretty high stat limits, though you might want to watch out for (fermionic) siliclastic and carbonate ore (all ore: OQ, UT).

Steel is what seems to burn up quickly. I recommend a very nice OQ steel for components that require just OQ and PE. Then you need loads of steel that have a good OQ & CD (this is very very difficult to find so when you do buy it all). Then there's the stuff that is OQ UT HR mainly for armor but I use that instead of the high CD stuff when people want to shave a CD stat for some mass. But again, the OQ CD steel is the stuff you want to shell out the bucks for in high quantities. Most components need this type of steel and I swear I buy 500k of high quality OQ CD steel and it's gone in a week it seems. I'm dreaming of the day some good stuff like this spawns on Bloodfin so I can drop 20 of my heavies on it and contract out another few million units.

Steel-high OQ and CD-those Mark IV, Mark V and Elite components with upgrades use thousands for each component.
