Got a Little tip for you for sorting out your loot.

If you are like me and store your space loot on a vendor before RE'g, then try this.
Set your sale price as follows;

lvl1 price 11111111
lvl2 price 22222222
lvl3 price 33333333
lvl4 price 44444444
lvl5 price 55555555
lvl6 price 66666666
lvl7 price 77777777
lvl8 price 88888888
lvl9 price 99999999
lvl10 price 10101010

When you're checking your loot all you need to do is sort by price in the appropriate ship subcomponent list to visually check how many items of the lvl you have.

Hope they eventually put a lvl column on loot items though.

Cheers

Heres another space loot sorting tip...

Get 5 droids with storage modules in them. The chasis dealer doesnt "see" the contents of your droid so you can put items in the droids that you want to keep and just sell all the rest to the NPC (or SW if you choose). In addition if you are trying to assemble parts together for RE purposes you can use each droid for 1 RE item (ie; one droid holds all the Lvl 10 capacitors you get, another holds all the lvl 8 shields you get, etc).

i have 3 generic houses with back packs for this.

But the other thing i do is when I am going for a project I make my RE tool named for the items to be RE'd

So I name a tool "L8 Caps" for one project and put all the caps in it.

What I did was to set up a Corellia style 2, floorplan 2 house with 10 armoirs in it and just drop space loot into those.

(since it's impossible to get pilots to hand over re'able sets instead of a load of random items)

9 lootable components or thereabouts. 90 items to average a lvl 10 RE'd component - prob want at least 15-20 of each b4 RE'ing to get best results. So lets say lvl 10 = 100 items, 9=90, 8=80.......
Gonna need minimum 300 spaces and thats leaving no room to choose best item to RE.
I have 6 factories, 1 each for 7, 8 n' 9 RE lvl items. 4 pilots supplying loots - I have to RE every 2 days minimum to stop overflow. Each RE sesh takes 15- 30 mins depending on complexity of RE (ie RE lvl best loot combo). Tried using a vendor but juggling bags was tiresome to say the least.
Factories were best space per slot, not the case now I believe, so Im prob a little off optimal set up.
If your still using vendor set up........stop.

Why? That's all well and good the way you do it, but unlike some people I already had storage set up...and being used. I've got three characters, and all their lots are in use, holding either factories or houses. Vendors for storage are immensely convinient...I really wish that they would add in a vendor-like storage thing, maybe something that you get a 'cert' for at the master box of any crafting profession.

If for nothing else than Vendors are not indented to be used as storage devices.

I use chests stacked in pyramids.. one house for Level 1-5, the other 6-10 and my guild drops off stuff as they get it. I then go in, RE the stuff and get it on the vendor.

Well, when they implement storage that will allow me to store my stuff efficiently (I do NOT consider a house with a ton of backpacks "efficient" for storing things of many catagories; harvesters, yes, looted ship parts, no.), then I'll happily stop using vendors. Mind you, I have two at the moment - one with 3 and a half pages of my shipwright resources, and one with miscellaneous stuff - 500+ geonosian components all bagged and tagged, extra krayt tissues, and so on and so forth. No houses will not work thank you very much, I already have my 3 character's lots full of houses and factories; two houses are harvester storage, one is semi-temporary resource storage where I stash orders I'm filling and such, one is my dedicated crafting house, one has extra combat gear and stuff stashed in it, and one is my store. Most are near full. Factories don't work that well for me either.

The thing about a vendor is that you've got "unlimited" (not really, but close enough) storage space, and its all in one place.

Personally I put all my loot in my "stockroom" on my vendor. It stays there for 60 days (usually i get enough parts to RE 90% of it anyway and its a easy way for me to keep track of everything without having 20 houses to hold stuff. When it comes close to falling off my stockroom. i put it up for sale and withdrawl it again.

This is, what I did in the beginning. Now I am putting those items for sale at RE-Level * 10k. I do not want to miss the sort by price option.

However, I would very much prefer a special storage terminal, maybe as an addition to the merchant profession.

Having tried the vendor method and the factory storage method - I would not go back to using the vendor method as viewing components is not time effecient. I said stop using vendors for this reason alone. - |If you are not going through volume then vendors maty be fine but juggling paks to fill them is a major pain that factory/house storage avoids.

In this game everyone has limits.

You have 250 skill points to work with

You can only master 1 pilot profession at a time.

You are only allowed 10 lots for each character.

So why is it that you feelyour so special that you are justified in exploiting a gaming mechanic for a use which was not indended? Have you read the EULA recently?
