Thread: SCOUT XP Petition: Please Reply with a (YES or NO)
Now that I have stated my case, I urge all other scouts and gamers alike to tell your opinion on this issue, and possibly convince Sony to do something about this problem.
Please, post a reply to this and write your comments, experiances, and concerns with the matter. And I ask you to start your post with a YES if you are for it, and NO if you are against helping out our fellow scouts. Thank you for your time. And May the force be with you all!!!

I vote YES!!!!!!
No.
I don't completely understand what the petition is for, so I can't say yes to it.
THIS PETITION: Is to give a boost somehow to the Scout Experience gained by a Scout.
There are really only two good ways of gaining Scout Experience-
HARVESTING
and
MASK SCENT
This petition is to give Scouts more Scout XP for either one of these tasks (which one depends on the company's final decision, if this petition gets heard by them). I believe they should double the amount of Harvesting XP given by the creatures you harvest. Please read the main thread more thoroughly next time. Again, thank you all for your time.
Also, aside from harvesting, is there any good ares to use Mask Scent with that it actually DOES work?
Again, thanks everyone for their time and effort into helping this lost scout. I appreciate it, and I'm sure other people in my situation will enjoy the feedback, tips, and other information or comments that are comming up on this board as well. Thanks again, and May the force be with you all.
Rip,
This is the #1 thing that I'm bringing up this week in my list of Scouting issues for the developers. The maskscent nerf has been debated on here for over two weeks now, and I think it is obvious that something must be addressed - or at the very least tweaked - to make it worthwhile.
I disagree with you, however, on the issue of the ease of getting Scouting XP. Scouting XP is not hard to get - you simply need to be out hunting and maskscenting. A few hours worth of hunting can easily get you 2000-5000 scouting XP. I know, because I've done it. If you want more tips, check out some of the tips in other threads or in the game guide forum (check out mine too).

I really could use some advice. I have been hunting on Corellia for awhile now. Is there any better planets to go to? Lok or Endor? Or are they too high of a level for me?
I very rarely use mask scent and have never had a problem with scouting XP. Sure it took me a little while to get to Explore 4 and Hunting 4 (2 to 3 weeks) but it was never slow. I had a friend who barely had any scouting XP and he managed to get to explore 4 and hunting 4 before i did (in about a week).
If you aren't harvesting everything you kill then yes the scouting XP is very slow.... in that situation then i would suggest heading to one of the more dangerous planets (Dantoinee [sp?]) and try mask scent out there. I was getting between 100 and 250 XP for sucsessful masking however it does get broken frequently so you may spend alot of time standing around waiting to use your mask scent again.
Rip,
As a lower level character, the best thing to do is go and take mission for lower to mid level creatures that spawn a lot from their lairs.
I've not hunted extensively on Corellia, but on Naboo, I made my name hunting Gnorts and Nightspiders. A nightspider isn't too difficult to kill, and will net you 50 scout experience each harvest. A good lair will spawn between 15-20 nightspiders if you milk it - shoot one shot, wait for some spawns, kill them, repeat, until no more spawn. That's an easy 1000 XP off that one lair. Gnorts are even more plentiful, and although they only give about 29 scout experience each. The best place for nightspiders is near Moenia. Gnorts pretty much infest Naboo.
As for Lok and Endor- I've honestly only been able to hunt there within the last three days, and that's with a probot and halfway to Master Ranger. You won't be able to solo there for a long time. You can go in a group, but don't get upset if you die a lot, and be sure to clone the minute you step foot on the planet. In addition, a round trip ticket to Lok or Endor is pretty steep - 3400 credits minimum. Be sure you can afford the investment, because you are most likely going to get discouraged and want to come home. I know I did.

I hunt pretty much solely on Corellia. I found the best things to hunt at your lvl would be either vrelt, diseased vrelt and maybe the occasion baggerset. Also never underestimate the power of the traps. They have helped me take down alot of the slightly larger critters out there. One place where you can get a huge amoutn of scouting XP is Rori. There is so much scouting XP out there it is not funny. Go there and hunt squals. They my con high (white to yellow) however they move pretty slowly. And they give a huge amount of scout XP between 70-100XP per harvest.

I agree, Scouting XP can be a pain. I have a ton more to go myself. Going for Master Ranger, that's a lot of Scouting XP. But it can be done, and fairly quickly. You just have to do a little trial and error. Find things to kill that suit your style, and make sure they are yellow or red mobs. As an example, I gained 15k in scouting xp in 4 hours today hunting red conned critters. Gonna get another 15k tomorrow to hit Master Scout. Took me awhile to find some red creatures I could solo, but once I did it was jackpot!

I have found that a large number of people will listen to someone whine about an issue, and internalize it. Negativity is contagious. The game is not even one month old.Master scout is a journey, not a destination. To those who ran across endor with mask scent up, you really missed out on a lot by exploiting that bug. I suspect that they felt no real accomplishment by Mask scent power leveling.
I am playing about 20 hours per week, I am level3 rifle, pistol, and ranged wreapon; Level 4 survey, lvl4 domesticarts, level 3 eng; Level 2 unarmed combat; Level 1 dancer level 2 entertainment healing; novice medical; and lvl3 explore, level4 traps, level3 hunting, level4 survival. I dont just grind away at one aspect of the scout profession for hours, I do a whole bunch of things, and have fun.
Thats the real secret to advancing in the game, have fun. Go out and do something cool. Don't think that you have to be Master Scout 3 weeks from launch, kudos to those that have achieved this, but its not a requirement. If you take your time and enjoy what yourdoing, then by the time you get mmaster it will mean something to you. Anytime you hear someone whining about how their profession is worthless because one thing is nerfed, just chuckle to yourself, because they are obviously missing something that you have.
