Here's the situation.

I had been soloing a svage Guf Drolg for about 30 mins (2 incaps). I had reduced the mind ham on the critter about 80% and was just waiting for my hams to fully recover when 3 yahoos run up and Bang! no word spoken they nail the critter I had been working on. No xp - nada.

Has this happend to any other soloists (not the first time its happened to me) and anybody have any suggestions on what should be done with these boobs?

Here's what I enjoy doing. They usually do this when it'sa big ole critter and they have no chance of beating it on their own.

So when they start hitting it, I stop. I hit peace, let them take the aggro, and watch them get stomped into the ground.

It's very fulfilling.

were you incaped at the time? if you were maybe they didnt see you there laying on the ground?

if you werent incaped why didnt you say something? I usually say "hey that's my critter, or mission" etc

No I was kneeling, recovering form an incap (waiting for the ham bars to come back).

I didn't have time. As I was saying I had worked this critter over pretty good and 'Bang Bang' the critters dead befor I could hit enter.

When I come up on an animal thats been beat up and there is someone in the neighborhood, I ask if I can help (polite thing to do). These guys just ran up bang bang and thats that.

I think I'm going to revive an old tradition - public shaming.
Refuse to teach or help those individuals until they change their ways and advertise the fact and why.

You know what really torqued me. Not even a sorry, goodbye or get lost afterwards.

Something similar happened to me the other day, same type of situation, except i had my camp ground up, the guy ran through my tent started shooting at the scyk ( i think thats what it was) well before i can do anything he starts heading back towards me...and i am still recovering here, ah &*%^ here he comes, he runs right through my camp and guess who gets it? ME!!!! What a punk. I think what should be going on is there be a hot key for STUN, of course it works depending on exp. but at least you can track them down and haunt them.

I've had a few punks steal some kills. What really ticks me off is when I ask them not to do that and they just ignore me or say something stupid. I was attacking a rebel camp for FP. I was ealily killing all the rebels and this moron comes over kills the rest of the rebels and the camp as I come back form chasing a fleeing rebel NPC. I /tell him please don't take my missons. I'm working for Fp and he just says, "All rebels must die" like a moron who dosen't even know there's someone else in the world besides himself. I then told him please just take your own missons and he never responded. People who act like they are the only ones in the world tick me off.

My public shaming campaign seems to be getting some positive respone. I've set up a macro where I shout:

The following are known poachers:

{list names}

Please put them on your ignore list and don't deal with them until they mend their ways.

I execute that macro every time I'm in hte bank or the cantina. Have had a number of people ask what poaching is, I explain it to them, explain that the only people that go on the list are those who I'd invited to group (I'm not against sharing here, I just don't want to lose the xp I've racked up) and they go ahead and shoot the animal anyway.

Most of the folks I have talked to have agreeded that that is not the kind of game play we want to encourage and have agreed to put them on their ignore lists also.

The only other idea I have is to post their names in this forum and we can all update our lists and ask others to do so also. The only thing that is stopping me is I wonder how appropriate that would be (Delta - some guidence here would be nice)

i am really tired of all the complaining, isnt what you are doing close to griefing since you are running their name through the mud when you don't own the animal? yes what they are doing is kind of crappy but come on and just grow up a bit and just move on.

Jim's got a point here. This is a legitimate concern, and its one that we can only deal with in our individual communities. There is nothing more disheartening to get incapped while killing a very tough critter, have some random schmoe run by and kill it and you get nothing.

That being said, however, this isn't the best place to post a griefer thread. We're too widely dispersed across servers. In my business, it's all about the hitting your "target audience". You don't want random Scouts to see this. You want players on your server to see it. Post your list on your server's board, Jim.

That was exactly the kind of guidence I was looking for. I will do exactly that. Anybody who is play scout on the kauri server and you have this happen to you, feel free to add their naems to the thread titled 'Known Poacher's Black List'.

Scouts on other servers might want to consider setting up a similiar thread on their server's board.

I will be the first to admit that I have done poaching and until know I really never thought about it. For those thatI have done this to. I am deeply sorry.

Hmmm... poaching is a tricky subject. As I run across the landscape I run and gun at anything that cons white or under. If its yellow or red on my radar and its in my path its dead wether I see blue around it or not. But, this is usually on the newbie stuff that is just on the outskirts of town. Sometimes, I "help out" people wether they ask for it or not. I like shooting things with my scout blaster, sue me. I try to be courteous most of the time. Once there was a shaurput lair that I hit twice and was going to milk it, then I noticed a camp sitting close to it so I declared peace, walked up to the camp and asked if it was his mission. He said yeah, I apologized for hitting it twice and I moved on. If something cons red to me and I see someone engaged I usually try to "help out". I do this because I don't think I would mind if someone did this to me even if its a red con I can handle myself. I'm not such an XP wh0r3 where I'll care if I miss out on 100-200 XP because took some damage away from me. Wow, in this game that could take me a whole 2-3 seconds to make that lost XP up. If they get incaped I'll throw them a stim B to get them back (unless they have a TEF, then they're SOL and the kill is mine).

I myself have never had any problems. Someone took out a few of my targets today, I could have cared less. They were agro (red) so he was entitled to defend himself. For the most part everyone on Wanderhome has been courteous.
