How come I can't seem to use traps inside caves. Is it a bug, or is it intended? I can't see why it would be intended, if i have enough room to swing a sword or shoot a rifle, i should definately have room to throw a frigin trap.

It's intentional. Try harvesting in a cave, its all 1 unit. Stops campers from exploiting caves.

Hey all, just wanted to find out what traps you tend to use, in which situations and why?

P darts, glow wire, bone spurs and sometimes ad mesh.

If I snare them and stun them, there is a chance they don't move again. If I move out to 50m+ and continue to shoot they stand there and take it, with no attacks. The glow wire and bone spurs are for xp purposes, and to let others hit with better damage.

I can still solo torturs on Talus, altho it takes a little longer.

The trap I used to use the most was the Adhesive Mesh. It provides a +root+ state. However, this trap is currently bugged (since the CU). I would LOVE to use this trap all the friggen time, but it's bugged. Sorry for the rant - I'm annoyed with this bug as this truly is my favourite and most useful trap.

After that I use glow wire and p-darts.

You'll likely want to stay away from the traps granted through the Ranger tree because they don't seem to land a state and are also AoE - since the CU, a mass aggro is the last thing I want on my hands!

Since the CU I'd give anything for a AOE Ranger trap that snares or roots.

/agree

...how about one of each. If we get these, I'll go back to master ranger. Right now, my skill points are better spent getting stopping shot from pistoller than trapping from ranger. It pains me to not be at master ranger, but if the shoe fits - or in this case - doesn't!

That's odd, because it's rare for me to throw a p-dart that doesn't snare anymore. I've thrown a good three cases of them over the past three days or so and only had a handfull that wouldn't take and snare correctly.

It's become my drug of choice. So much so that as soon as I get on tonight, I'm going to run a good five or six case factory load of p-darts. Graul maulers don't stand a chance.

Thanks for your feedback all.

I've been using the Adhesive Mesh recently but it doesn't seem to root. Anyone else experiencing this?

Dumb question...............I thought that factories could only be run by artisans? Can Rangers use them also???

As others have said, you need to grab a pile of resources (e.g., enough to make 100 of a single trap type), get a weapon, droid, general crafting tool (not your generic one), and stand by a weapon, droid, general crafting station (either public or private - so the one in town or in your friendly weaponsmith shop will both work). Make a trap, but on the screen where it says "make a prototype", it should also have a "make a schematic". You choose that, and leave the default (1000 items) on. Now you have a schematic in your datapad to make *that* kind of trap, with *exactly* those resources.

Find a friend with an equipment factory, put the schematic in the factory, put the resources in the factory, turn it on, and come back a couple hours later to find crates of traps (25 per crate) in the output hopper.

Once you make traps/camps/camo kits this way you will never hand-craft them again.
