Thread: Trap use

It depends on what kind of group I'm in. I typically use: glow-wire, pdart, and adhesive mesh on single creatures. I don't use the AOE traps if we've been fortunate enough to only get 1 critter pulled. However, if the whole family comes down on us, then I lay out both the flash bombs and sonic blasts - since they are already upset then it does no harm and might help.

Not a dumb question at all. If your profession allows you to craft any item, that crafting can be done through factories as well.

p-darts will snare. The thing is you have to stack them. I throw two at the mob. The first one slows them down, followed by the second one that snares them. I'm lvl63 any a lvl80 mynock on lok stood no chance. However, it took so long to kill it... Looked for better game. Though the bone and hide I get from them are mackdaddy awesome.

It's not a dumb question. I thought this until fairly recently too.

All you need is acess to one of the large crafting stations and a factory.

Make your item (camp, trap etc) whilst standing next to it and it will give you an option to make a schematic. You then use that schematic in the factory to produce your crate of camps or traps etc.

Since the CU I'd give anything for a AOE Ranger trap that snares or roots.

I agree.

Now that most ranged professions have some sort of root special, p-darts don't contribute much to a fight now. An AOE root would be one unique tool rangers could have in combat.

Having said that, doesn't commando (or non-commando using a rocket launcher) have an AOE knock-down?

Th'gils as a carbineer you be better off using cripling shot after a phecnacine dart.

Not a master, and never will be due to lack of SP. So I don't have crippling shot.

Normally yes. However, if you stand back around 45m with cammo applied, the mynock will come toward you alone. After it has moved about 20m, throw another trap. It'll be stationary until it is dead. And it's far enough from the lair by then that the others won't aggro. Besides, I pick the closest one in the pack. The others tend to mozy along in random directions. And even if another mynocks decides to mingle with my target, it won't aggro me if its buddy is trapped. This is definitely a nice change from pre-cu when throwing a trap meant they all aggro'd at once. Yikes.

The 'ole "glow wire" (farie fire ) is my all time favorite. Made 1000 in a factory. With camo I use the trap to pull one critter at a time away form the lair, take 'em down, no problems. With my temple at cl 80, I don't have a problem hunting on Dath. lvl 83-84 missions. Oh and if you have 0/4/0/0 you can make the High Tec camp, which has its own Weapon, Droid, and General crafting station, as well as a Chem. and Food one.
