To avoid the wrath of the general forum population, best if you read the stickies and perhaps do a search on the other messages posted here, there are many that explain some methods of getting it.

But very generally:

* 'Sitting' in camp (I personally love this, I think far too many people are in a rush in the SWG world...)

* Crafting traps

* Fishing

I think that's it from memory. But please read the various threads and stickies, they are from far more knowledgeable people than myself

If crafting starts to get boring, and are a medic, find a tumbler to take with you and heal, you reach the cap quicker.

Survival is a pain, but do-able. Try this, set camp and craft additional camp and/or traps, this will all help you in teh end. At about the 10 minute mark, break campa and throw another one down. Now I did this with no macros, but that is just me, Im sure if your into it you can figure something out. Reason I say 10minutes is from what I experianced, I made most of my camp xp in the first 10 minutes then I did from a 30 min camp. In all, I made more over all from 3 10 minute camps then from 1 30 minute camp. Might sound wierd and who knows, maybe I had some wierd variable going Im forgetting, but try it, I'm pretty certain it will work out. With all the camps you will be burning up and crafting and fishing if you camp near a stream (hehehh, i never got to try that idea myself) it should go by pretty fast. Otherwise, you can take it slow and just use the camps as you need them and let the survival xp come to you as you need it. I didnt take novice medic till only very recently, so my only source of healing were my camps. <shrug> Its all personal preferance. Good luck though.

Just got done Survival 4... long road but worth it. I find it best to set a camp down and keep foraging. Find a new player medic who wants exp and ask him to keep healing you. Every ten mins disband camp and place new one. And if you really want to get it going, craft traps while doing all this. Gl out there !

The only way outside of using camps to gain survival XP is foraging. Successful foraging will give you a small amount of survival XP, and as stated previously any healing done in a camp will lessen the time it takes to maximize the amount of survival experience for the camp type you are using.

Just my thoughts, do with them what you will.

sitting in a camp crafting camps will give you some good survival Xp. Fishing also gives you some survival Xp but not loads(its just good fun)

and as the others have said Foraging is good and having a medic do some heals in your camp helps loads

This bears repeating: Catching fish will give you Wilderness Survival xp! The amount varies depending upon the fish but I have personally gotten anywhere from 59-150 xp per catch. After you catch it, filet it and it turns into a resource container of fish. You can get good money for it from Bio-Engineers, which is a bonus (how much money do you make while sitting in a camp?).

For future reference we only let loose our combined wrath against people who say something along the lines of "OH!! SURVIVAL SUCKS A$$!! TELL ME HOW TO GRIND IT QUICK SO I CAN QUIT THIS PROFESSION!"

so he has nothing to worry about...*grin*

the best advice is to read Brisc's guide stickied to the forum. It has all the information you need to know.

Not only do you get xp, but the fish are nice looking, you get bait which you can sell to non scouts who want to be fisherman, and you get fish meat.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the reason you got more experience from three 10-minute camps than from a single 30-minute camp is that the experience peaks at 15-17 minutes if you do nothing at all. So anything beyond the 15-17 minutes is wasted time as far as gaining experience goes.
