Isn't item insurance supposed to prevent decay?

I've insured my armor twice now, and died twice since then, and it's down to 75% now

"Isn't item insurance supposed to prevent decay?"

Insured items will still decay by 1%.

Uninsured items however, will decay 5%.

Very strange

Think it's wortha /bug or a CSR ticket, or am I more likely to get a "we know about, can't do anything at the moment" response?

Ummm... The decay system was specifically set up that way.

So it is working as intended.

Not if my stuff has decayed 25% after only 2 deaths it's not.

Even uninsured the most I should have lost is 10%.

Unless the usage decay also figures into that...

Actually, I think I figured it out.

I didn't insure in Mos Vegas when I cloned there.

Last time I ensured was in Theed, when I cloned then, so ths, I was't insured.

Correct?

Were the clothes decayed before you purchased them?

Ifall the decay wasindeed caused by onlytwo deaths, then I would suggest filling out a /bug report.

Ah... You do need to insure after every cloning, if that is what you are refering to.

Don't forget armor take damage from combat, too. So even if you don't die, your armor might be taking quite a beating from regular activities.

And this leads me to another question:

If weapons don't need to be insured because they take usage damage, why does armor?

Heh!

That was going to be my next question, but I figured I've been venting pretty badly on the boards the last couple of days, and I thought it would be best if I kept my mouth shut for awhile.

Why do camps decay? And traps?

The Devs are evil is why.

And I agree, the armor probably took damage in combat. Why I don't wear any, too expensive to keep replacing it.

Or, alternate theory - Rasps did it, they nested on your armor and corroded it.

Personally, I think it was the Rasps. Kill all rasps.
