scouts...armorers and such NEED our hides...they cant even level up without us. I'm seeing to many people selling hides for 1.5,2,&2.5 credits per unit. YOU CAN GET 6cr/unit!! dont undercutt your fellow scouts and dont cheat yourself...we can control the production.

You can't always get that much money for your hides and bones. True, you can get as much as 10 credits for top quality hides with the kind of characteristics that will let artisans make top of the line armor from, but most hides are justjunk that Medics can use as a cheap source of organics for their Stimpacks or Artisans can use to practice their skill with (after which they'll destroy the item rather than try and sell an inferior product).

Always be sure toexamine your hides and bones for what kind of quality they have and make friends with an artisan or armorsmith to find out what they're looking for.

Agar,

There's a little something out there called the "Law of Supply and Demand".

Simply stated - An increase in supply will lower prices if not accompanied by an increase in deamend. An increase in demand will raise prices unless it is accompanied by an increased supply.

The market for hides out there is large right now, yes. But that is also because the supply is huge. Hides are one of the absolute easiest things to find - generically. The higher end hides that are needed by crafters are harder to find, thus in increased demand without an increased supply. This equals higher rates. But as Scouts increase in power and we have more Rangers, the supply will increase as well, off-setting the costs.

You've also got to recognize that an increased cost to the armorcrafter on the front end - his supplies - will result in an increased cost to the consumer on the back end - the finished product. If a Scout gouges the armorcrafter on hide prices, one of two things will happen. First, the armorcrafter finds another Scout who'll sell cheaper. Second, the armorcrafter will jack up the prices to his consumers to make up the difference. As the Scout may be one of those consumers, he's not really gained anything by charging exorbitant rates for his hides.

Wow. And to think I've not had an economics class in over5 years!

The pricing guides you've seen on here are pretty fair. 3 credits per hide for regular, 5 for 800-899 quality, 7 for 900 and above, with the rates varying depending on the specialty of the hide (nabooian leathery hide is easy to get than dathomirian wooly hide) and the size of the order. If someone wants 2000 hides from me, I usually will give them a slight price break for buying in bulk. I'm the Scouting Price Club.

So the moral of this story is - trying to screw someone over may hurt you more in the long run.

I don't bother to try and figure out quality. I sell mine for 5cr a hide/bone plus a 20cr-50cr lisiting fee depending on the volume.

lol, keep selling then for 5 and 6 guys, please. Everytime you do it makes it that much easier for me to become a regular supplier for another tailor/armorsmith/BE. You do realize the huge quantities available out there right? Not to mention you get half your hides/bones/meat running missions you get paid for. You keep gouging away though, makes it that much easier to sell my harvests and build a nice relationship with the people I'm supplying. Right now the only people being "ripped off" are the people dumb enough to buy from you.

Its people like you screwing up the economy and turning a game into a chore. Guess what, those crafters can just take novice scout and get their own hides.

However, I am MORE than happy to provide local crafters with VERY cheap hides, so they can continue to sell armor at low prices. I will not be a part of driving up prices of everything in the game because of greed.

This is a "game." Look it up.

Also I will always sell my resources for less to Dr's and Acrhitects. They don't have the big bucks that other char have and i just think they deserve a break. Also my prices fluctuate according to the attitude of the buyer. Exceptional levels of ego and attitude almost always generate and adverse pricing sdjustment.

Eclipse - Visit GD Mining for all your resource needs. Vendor located at

Tempest - Visit Grock's Slice and Spice Sanctuary located in the SiN City Med Center on Dantooine. WUK's, AUK's, Clamps, Laser Knives, Survival Knives and of course spices.

My scout exp is capped right now at 30k. Sometimes I dont even harvest. When I do I make the stuff I need and sell the rest on the bazaar for 1 credit a unit and then tack on a small chunk for the listing fees. Done. Even doing this stacks of 300 hides that I sell for 400 credits still take a few days to sell. If they sold quicker I would raise price a little bit, if they sold slower I would lower price, but it usually takes 2 to 3 days for me to sell at that price. I couldn't even imagine how long it would take to sell 300 leathery hide for anything over even 600 credits.

heh I have an architech and a Tailor that I suppoly on a regular weekly basis and they give me what I need in return for free. If I really hit hard on the hides I can come up with about 4k hides normally I come up with about 2k a week...but this also includes me making money ect...but I've found this works out well...

Bristol,

Anyone who has read my guide knows my pricing structure.

However, I do give a "bulk" discount to my primary buyer, and give him a lower rate of 2 credits per hide. This is primarily due to volume (I never sell him less than 2k worth of hides/bone/meat) and because he's a secured buyer. Knowing I have an instant outlet for my hides when I need it is worth a 1 credit discount.

What about tougher planets where getting those hides is harder work? Surely that demands a higher price - if it's quality - I don't think there's any point in hunting for lower hides to sell them for high prices.

Anyway, as you said, it's only a guide but I think high quality hides obtained from minor planets could be priced a little higher. Similarly rare hides (if there's such a thing).
