So here I sit alt-tabbed out. Hunting 4, Trapping 4, Exploring 4 (no trips to Lok all harvesting), and Survival... 2

Guess I should have spent more time grouped. I know I probably should be more organic and not worry aboutgetting it now,but it feels so close to master that I just get the urge to grind out the 22000 xp I have left

I know how you feel. I just need about 15,000 more exp for survival IV and I can finish scout.

I recommend getting a GBA SP. Getting from Survival II to Survival IV should give me plenty of time to finish Golden Sun.

You can sample resources while you are in a camp, it increases the time you can sample, but of course with the new delay between samples, my Rodian can sample, literally, forever, as his refresh rates max out his pools before the next hit from sampling occurs. At least you will be doing something while you kneel there.

That's weird. The easiest exp I get is Survival. I can't for the life of me figure out how to level up the other ones faster.

The easiest thing to do is find a artisan friend, or some artisan who is Macroing (cheating) while sampling AFK. Set up a camp while they harvest, you get exp for 2 people and for healing their action damage while they harvest. I dismantle camp (multi) every 15 minutes and reset up. It's 820 exp for me.

I thought I was the only that sampled and read the message boards while sitting bored in my campwaiting to get survival IV. Camps are a great place to get that pesky summer reading done too.

Just got master scout an hour ago, been working on survival for the past 2 and a half days.

All I can say is grab a book or something. Every 15 minutes, break down your camp and put up a new one, this will maximize your XP gain, but its slowww.

I'd suggest joining a group, but you'll find youself fighting over who gets to put the camp down, alot of the time.

I just finished watching Episode two behind the scenes stuff I never bothered with. Now I'm gonna take a shower while the camp runs.

What are you guys doing do get survival besides breaking down and setting up camp every 15 minutes? Is there a way besides camp sites that will help gain survival xp faster? I try using the /maskscent command, even when there was the famed exploit, and it NEVER works. how in the heck am i supposed to gain survival xp in a reasoable amount of time? Survival xp sucks. And I'm not the only one who agrees.

I think this is something that has been missed with all the complaints over mask scent. Getting survival XP just plain stinks. I've actually thought of taking up the artisan profession just to move this skill, and that's absolutely ridiculous that I'd have to do that. If there is a more boring skill to learn I'd like to know what it is, and it sadly doesn't have to be that way. Why on earth don't they allow us to get XP from foraging? If they worry about exploiting put a timer on it like they did mask scent, but for heaven sake give us some other way than sitting in camps for 15 minutes at a time to earn this skill! Well I'm done ranting for the time being. Just thought this thread look like a good place to leave my thoughts on the subject.

Gaining Wilderness Survival xp has been an exercise in total frustration for me. Not only is it slow and boring, but I have put in double the time necessary due to freqent disconnects and rollbacks. I am at the point now where it's easier to set up a camp, go watch TV for half an hour, then come back and reset it.

What a total waste of time.
