Scouters Unite!!!

Seems to me the best way to get scouting XP would be to form a scout hunting party.

I figure if u get 2 or 3 scouts together and go big game hunting, the Scouting XP will pour in as everyone takes turns harvesting resources

Now im not claiming to know it all, me being new to the game, but it seems to me, us scouts could reach our desired goals alot faster by working together

you can take on almost any creature by yourself. i have been able to take down red cons with up to 5000 xp using my rifle and probot.

i dont like grouping because every group i get into, it seems at least 1 if not all of them have basic scout skill which means they run to harvest everything first. people just stick sometimes. they know i need the xp, yet feel the need to get those hides to sell. :-(

If you're in a group with multiple scouts you need to find an agreemant about harvesting. I was grouping with some people in my PA and there were 4 scouts so we took turns (alphebetially) harvesting. Before we killed the creature we knew who was gonna harvest it. Thios can also save health/lives cause if the creature is low on health all the scouts will rush it trying to be the first to get the hides/bones/meat and will stop attacking it so they can get the harvest. This not only causes the player who the cratures attackling to get hurt more and if the scouts start rushing it when it's only down to half health it'll be much more likely to incap or DB someone.

my problem is that i travel ALOT. so i dont have many friends in different cities (i try and make a few in each city, but therye not always around to group) and i dont belong to a PA (yet).

so usually im just joining a local hunting party, or asking around for people looking to group.

What the best place or easiest way to get scouting xp? i do tons and tons of neutral destroy missions (with lairs) and harvest billions and billions of animals, but the xp bar is moving sooo fricken slowly..

Are they any monsters somewhere that are easy and give alot of expeirience when you harvest??

As of right now, without using anything that could be construed as an exploit (Do scouts have many left?)the fastest way to level your skills up is to group. Making sure that you're the only scout in the group of course. The tougher the animal, the more points you'll get for killing it, harvesting it, and using maskscent (if you're at least explorer 3).

There have been other suggestions, like getting 1 lair of nasties to chase you, then you lead them into another lair of nasties and let them fight it all out. Just make sure you manage to do some damage to each creature you intend to harvest. Oh, and make sure that the second group of nasties isn't aggressive to you

Either that, or try to find a bunch of baby peko peko's... I found that they give good exp, and still go down rather easily.

How can I get Scouting XP faster?

Im going for BE/CH, and I need both Exploration IV and Hunting IV, so far I've got II on both. I was told Mask Scent is the key, but after using it for a few hours, and nothing happening acept critters finding me... Ive run out of options. Am I stuck harvesting the next 50k XP?

Mask Scent is a little tricky now, but I had it working decently earlier today. First, make sure there are no yellow mobs (yellow dots) around. Then creep up on a group of reds (Kreetles are ideal for this). Go prone and then hit MS. Fire a body shot at one. You will likely one shot it, but I was able to also get the MS XP. Was getting 104 XP per kreetle. Rinse and repeat with more kreetles, etc. Then you also get a whole bunch of corpses which you can then harvest as well. Gives a nice quick boost.

this gives a lot of tips on advancement, mostly on what to do. I am pretty sure they had another decent scout article also.

Thanx for the info. One question tho: Gargs, Im using a melee weapon (Goin on Master Polearm! YaY), is there a way to get the same effect? Taunt maybe?

Mask scent doesn't work anymore!

Mask scent does work, and yellows don't always break it. It was nerfed a bit yes, but it works just fine.
