JustG just posted this in the BH board:
I'm not sure if it will be good or bad in the end, but it should bring about some interesting changes.
We are going to remove the Trapping, Hunting, and Survival Scout lines from the Bounty Hunter prerequisites.

I think I'll be the first person to say this:
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
That was on behalf of JBMat and the rest of our BH buddies.

Delta, you either had to be half asleep, or have a secret death wish, to call JBMat a BH....

Wow. Back one day and yet another huge change comes!
Can't believe it. No more "how do I grind camp XP posts?". Gone four months and I still remember those happening daily
Anyway, this is fantastic news really. BHs get more skill points to dabble more. Finally. A move away from over-focus on Master boxes. Plus I imagine no ones going to miss the 620 less apprenticeship points they need to make just to get passed the camps and traps they'll never use again.
I'm thinking of sticking with 4-0-4-0 Scout though. The increased ability to harvest will ensure a positive cash flow
Nice to have 34 skill points to toss somewhere else though.

I can't freaking believe it. The DEVs actually did something smart. Something I sorta asked for even.
YAY, the morons from the short bus go away. Yay, no more stupid freakiing questions or asking for macros. Yay. Bye bye boys, don't let the door hit ya where the good Maker split ya...don't go away mad, just go away. Move out (can't say smartly, they are really dense)
And Brisc, I don't think you called me a BH, but if you did, I will move servers, rebuild, and give you such an /atomic swirley on Lok you won't know what hit ya.
bye bye BHs, go dabble in something else.

B, if you think this is a positive thing for either Scouts or Bounty Hunters...bah.

How are we dabblers??? What the hell are you even talking about? I think you are quite possibly more clueless than the Devs are.

I knew JB would be happy about this one.

Quite a few BHs view Scout as nothing more than a large and annoying road bump in their path. They cared nothing about the profession other than the fact that it slowed down. Usually such that we had to listen to them gripe about it. Those are the 'dabblers' that he is refering to.
There are some BHs that actually care about Scout and those can be considered a BH and a Scout. They're okay.

Berg,
It is good for you guys - it gives you 81 extra skill points total after Master Bounty Hunter. That means you can master ANY other ranged profession that you want, in addition to Bounty Hunter. That's pretty significant.

You're welcome to keep Scout. If you do, you are doing so because you want it, which to me is far better than forcing you to take it.
Choices are good.

Hold on there Cabol.
Best go read what passes for a BH forum. Daily, hourly, some BH is whining and sniveling about being a scout, how it sucked, it took too long, waaaaa. Where is the macro?
Ok, after 6 million whines in YOUR OWN FORUM - ok, maybe not 6 million, but close - the Dev's dropped the requirement. BHs should be rejoicing. Now they have no reasons, other than the Investigation tree, to whine. But they will.
By and large, BHs are useless. I say again - useless. In PvP their lack of tactics leads to most dropping like flies. For the most part, BHs are 12-15 year olds,or the equivalent mental ages, who wnat to spray and slay. Fine, you can now. You can master another ranged profession, go be uber. In PvE their skills just flushed, harvest at the novice scout level. That's me laffing. And most will.
You do not see questions in this or the Ranger forum whining about weapons and damage per second and which armor block more damage and blah blah blah, trivial useless crap. More than one BH, all tricked out and buffed, got DB'd by a nasty old Ranger sans armor who knew tactics and wasn't afraind of taking a chance. BHs are doomed, mainly because of their lack of knowledge and refusal to see past the trivial.
You, meaning BHs in general, got what you asked for. Live with it, deal with it. I for one certainly won't miss you - either in the forums whining or on the battlefield.
Now, where's the rice balls, it is time to party
JB
