Thread: Scout to be modified with CU?

OK, I've been on vacation for the last 10 days and just read the "CU Update..."thread.
In it it mentions they will modify several professions by adding and removing new special abilities.
As a Master Ranger/Master Rifleman, I already know I have to drop novice Medic to pick up Ranged Support, but it didn't mention anything about the changes to Scout.
So, JB, or anyone for that matter, can youenlighten me or has nothing beensaid yet?

Nothing says you need to drop medic to get ranged support. There hasnt been any announcement concerning how the new skill points work or if there will be a change.
Nothing has been made public about whether scout will see any changes from the CURB

under the current template, people are coming to the conclusion that they will have to give up novice medic to afford the ranged support branch.

Well, all we know is that 14 more skill points will be required for the straight combat elite novice boxes.
Where you get those 14 skill points from is up to you. For many, it seems novice medic is their most attractive option, as many elite combat types take novice medic just to be able to heal themselves with stim-Bs, which will probably not be certified at the novice medic box.

Scouts will not be affected directly by the CU.
All Scouts will be affected indirectly by the CU, as we all have at least one combat class.
Rangers are getting hosed, as to master Ranger and a combat class will now cost - 246 points. Freaking ouchie.

Tho not a quote, this was pretty much what was said -
Scouts and Rangers are not combat classes and will not be directly affected by the CU. Changes for Ranger will come in the revamp, to be announced.
Not combat my azz. I cause more HAM damage going to check my harvestors than most PvP monkees cause in a week. In the average one hour playing period, I probably cause more HAM damage than any 3 PvP monkees. No, not through my scout skills, but because of my scout skills. I need to harvest to make money.

Best thing to do Weiquinn is hold on till it comes out. I read that there is gong to be a respec for folks. Besides if you've been playing for a while that combat xp for Ranged Support is nothing.

I know most people are freaked about losing Nov Medic (me included), but I also remember one thing:
with the revamp of the HAM bars, and how stims are going to be used, I can only HOPE that Stim A's (or whatever the new equivalent is) will be enough to keep us going to the point Stim B's do now.

Methinks we be hosed.
Not as bad as Rangers, which is getting royally screwed, blued, and tattoed (246 points to master, and only one weapon class master). But I think in the long run, we will be hosed.

Yanno, for a non combat basic profession we take a lot of nerfing from other sources.

Don't you guys worry, we're doing our best to support the Scouts/Rangers. yeah, it's a SNAFU situation for us, but we're laying the groundwork for a lot of future work, and I can tell you there is actually a lot of support for scouts and rangers becoming more useful.
just to tell you how hard we're working...earlier on today, 7 of the 10 top threads on one of the forums had a reply last written by yours truly. you looked down the right side of the thread list and all you saw was Last message: Phenix1050
