Tiger,
The fastest is crafting while camping.
No trap will give you as much XP as a camp (crafting wise). XP = 2 times the amount of resources that go into it.

Great guide. Found it very usefull as a NooB. One thing I wanted to add. In theory I've figured out how to AFK survival XP. There are 2 things involved that you need to understand to get it to work. 1. Camps go *poof* after about 50 min. You still get the XP for it but the camp goes away. 2. Your AFK will time out after X amount of time and log you off the system. So here, in theory,is what you do. First, grind out enough camps to completely fill one of your tool panes. Second, create a macro that sit's you down or stands you up about every 10 minutes. It would look something like
sit_stand
/ui action toolPane00;
/ui action toolbar00;
/pause 600;
/ui action toolPane00;
/ui action toolbar03;
/pause 600;
/macro sit_stand;
This should cause you to sit down or stand up every 10 minutes, thus not allowing you to time out. Then you write another macro to set up a new tent every 55 minutes or so, you could mostlikey get away with running it every 51 minutes but ever 55 just gives a nice round 3300 to type in.
camping
/ui action toolPane03;
/ui action toolbar00;
/pause 3300;
/ui action toolPane03;
/ui action toolbar01;
/pause 3300;
/ui action toolPane03;
/ui action toolbar02;
/pause 3300;
ect, ect, ect until you have used up your entire toolbar. The last thing that I run is a "/dump" to kill both theMacro's that are running andwill allow you to time out and log off the system. Now you may think that your repeating yourself switching to the toolpane every time but remember that you have another Macro running in the background that is switching to a different toolpane. This should allow you to be AFK during grinding out survival XP.
The catch (there is always a catch) the catch is this. It will take you 50 minutes to earn about 621 survival XP when you could have earned that amount in about 20 min if you manually took down and set up a new camp every 20 minutes. The other catch is that the Macro will run for 26 hours or so before it times out. If the server is shut down before then, well, your not getting anything then. I don't know how usefull anyone will find this. In theory it should work and one should be able to churn through about 15k survival XP in a 24 hr peroid (provided the server doesn't shut down or your connection is lost) where it would have taken 8 hours to do it manually. I know that I've read other places on better ways toget the XP.Just was thinking about it and wanted to throw outmy .02 worth.

Last night I did Trapping2 - 4 on Endor. I was able to hit regular Robas with traps at trapping 3, each trap got me 301 xp. Got trapping 4 in no time and maxxed the xp. Now on to Ranger.

For those of you working on your survival xp, consider pulling out, then storing your pet or pets repeatedly. Each time you pull out apet, you add one to your visitor number. By doing this again and again, I've found I can max out a camp's xp in as little as 4 or 5 minutes. I haven't worked out exactly how many 'visitors' this takes, but it seems to be somewhere around 35 or 40.

Hey, I don't get the trapping part with all the nightspiders. It doesn't make any sense. And the only thing i am having trouble with is trapping and uh, that other thing. Not explorer or hunting, the other thing.

I know it has been said over 100 times easy, but thanks for writing this guide, I am finding it very useful.

As a Novice Scout working your way up through the Trapping line, the fastest way to get XP is to use the chef food Dweezel. It adds a significant modifier to Trapping for 10-12 minutes, and you can easily use traps on creatures far above your regular level. Just make sure you have the combat skills to kill them when they come after you.
For example, last night I was on Dantooine hunting huurton huntresses, but they were immune to my traps at the Novice skill. After using Dweezel, I was able to throw traps at them for 335 XP per trap--which meant I got Trapping I in three traps. At Trapping I, you have four traps, total, and if all four stuck to a huntress, that was only four more creatures to toss traps at. Just make sure you have someone to train you (or a trainer nearby) since you get enough XP to train quickly. If you can quickly kill the creatures, too, you can easily get Trapping I-IV in one or two doses of Dweezel.
A word of caution, though: you'll have trouble finding Dweezel on chef vendors. I had to go to an established Master Chef I knew as vendors weren't panning out, and he'd never made it despite being a chef for the better part of a year. There's just no demand for it, so most won't make and stock it. You won't need much to power through the Trapping line, though.
