that "thunk" sound generally means your macro just pressed an empty toolbar slot. My guess is your putting the wrong number in your macro.

assuming a two-row toolbar:
toolbarSlot00 = F1, toolbarSlot11 = F12
toobarSlot12 = Shift+F1, toolbarSlot23 = Shift+F12.

Hope that clears it up. And before anyone bellyaches, there are plenty of times when these macros are useful during attended play. They aren't just good for macroing while you're AFK. I leave deciding how to use tools provided within the game to the descetian of the end user. (My take is that upber survival xp really isn't going to seriously dampen anyone elses game playing experience.)

SharkBoy,

FYI, if they do server reboots in the morning they do it around 7 or 8am pst. For about 1 or 2 hours after that the connection tends to be a bit flakey. Try running it at times other than this. I have the same problem, and that is always the case.

As for working the macro, I have found that if I do smaller pauses instead of larger ones, it kicks off the macro more often and it stops you from going LD as much. So, instead of doing a large pasue say like 2400 try 600 or like I do break it down to two 300 pauses.

I also dont run this macro unattended, so I am not sure if you can add other things to it to help this out. Hope this helps.

For people such as DA who got it to work, what operating system were you using? I was wondering if the auto logoff "feature" of winxp would cause any problems.

How is it that the camp is disbanded? I have it set up and everything seems to be working, but I'm wondering how the camp will be disbanded. (I started the macro and don't want to stay awake to watch it.) If you can answer my question, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

OK, thanks for the help. Can anyone tell me why the first camp disappears after the macro begins? It deploys, like it's supposed to, but then when it tries to deploy the second, it says there's already a camp (which is fine) and the first one disappears. Anyone else have that issue?

And as when I signed on, it was after 9, pacific time.

Shark,

Not sure - when I run the thing, the first camp stays up the whole the time while the macro cycles. The first one doesn't disappear.

Then again, I was only able to sit with the thing for two hours last night beforeI dropped off, so I assume that this didn't happen to me.

Thanks, Delta. I KNEW that, I just forgot it. I tried it last night just before I went to bed and didn't have time to check it when I got back. I hope it worked!

I use windows xp pro for mine, and i haven't had any autologoff problems. I have a /stand and /sit in the begining of my macro which has seemed to keep it from autologging me off. i have run it once while at work and once while sleeping and got about 12k exp. so much nicer than watching it

I run the maco every night when I go to bed, but this is usually 5am est since I work nights. I usually am only able to make it through 2-3 camps a night because of the auto logoff feature. I always turn off my auto AFK, but it still doesn't help. I never let it run while I am sitting there. If I am awake then I want to be running and gunning. This macro does help alot with my scout, but not as well as I hear from some of you. At best I get 1800 survival xp and 300-400 survey xp. I think I may alter the macro to put more frequent surveying in. Hopefully that won't mess up the macro.

Yay for me! I did it!

OK, first off, thanks to everybody who posted. I did some thinking about the macro, and wondered about the AFK thing. I thought I'd put in the macro the /afk command to go on and off with a pause in between, and give that a go. So, I rush home from work (after the night shift), redo the macro to add this feature, and set everything up. Then I launched the macro, and watched for a few minutes just to make sure. Sure enough, the first camp goes up. Now, I'm a little worried. The first time I tried this, it deployed the camp, and then the camp disappeared. This time, though, the first camp stays! And I watch as it runs through.

When I'm satisfied that it will work this time, I go to bed. Halfway through my sleep cycle, I get up to use the restroom, and decided to check on the macro. IT'S STILL WORKING!!! So I go back to sleep. I get up to the alarm to get ready for the last night shift on my work schedule (I work 4 days on, 3 days off), and I have two camps left to go.

I check the skills, do a little match, and I only have 5 more camps (which I can complete with one more use of the macro) to complete the entire Survival Tree I'm so happy. Da_Bamf (sp?), who da man? Yoda man (sorry, couldn't help myself, heheh). Using the /afk command worked really well (and I didn't even have to turn off the auto-afk).

So what did I do? I used the macro posted in the first post, but used /stand and /sit instead of /forage, and included two /afk's after every couple of camps and let run. Hope this helps anyone else having trouble

You might want to sacrifice a little sleep for this, as it's my understanding that they're resetting the server during this time. I started mine at 9 am, and let run until I got up at 3. Six hours of sleep is tough when working the night shift (I know, because I work that shift, too). Of course this might not be feasible if you're not that far along. I was already beginning the fourth tier, so this was really good for me

Just remove the sample line. You won't sample any resources but you still do camps.
