I noticed the same thing though, in regards to the faction points.

Previously, even after killing MANY npcs, (all agro ) I still only had rebel listed in my personal page...

This is a tangential issue, but since I haven't had been able to log in yet (time constraits not technical problems)I'll answer this. When I was a wee scout on Talus(Ok I'm still a wee scout, still onTalus, but when I was slightly less wee),I racked up quite a fewdifferent typesof faction, mostly by killing tugs and rogue CorSecs (they give you positive CorSec faction), than there was abug introduced in a hot fix and theonly factions awarded were Rebel or Imperial. Apparently they fixed that.

I can only throw bone spurs if I am holding a weapon. Is this the way it should be? These are thrown weapons so I think not.

Hi,

I wasn't sure if this has already been mentioned, but I think there is something wrong with harvesting animals if you use a macro. Basically, let's say I'm killing nightspiders (that only let you harvest meat)...I kill one, but accidentely hit my "/harvest bone" button. Nothing happens of course, but if I try to "/harvest meat" I can't do it. I, also, can't use the radial menu to harvest the meat. It's just like if the creature had already been harvested...

Not a major problem or anything, but I thought I'd add it in here...

Thank you,

Shorcan

Shar,

This is an on-going bug. Sometimes if you pull the harvest too quickly, you'll get an error "You cannot extract resources in your current state", and you'll try and harvest something else and it goes away.

I've lost about 10k worth of XP off Fambaas with that bug.

I've /bug 'ed and I hope you all will too.

Ok I read so far and then I got a headache so I'll just state my observations on Mission Explorer.

Some of you have mentioned this but for those who don't know

1. These missions do not have a waypoint. You just find say 45 Correlian Butterflies. Kill them. Hey presto money for you. Problems: The message "You only have eg 22 Butterflies to kill" does NOT always appear. That is very irritating because it takes me ages to find the critters and then I don't know if my kill has been recorded (believe me... 45 is a lot).

2. These missions do have a 'waypoint'. . Oh you crafty lot you. You put a waypoint on the first mission I did. It was about 10k m from my position. Like a n00b I went there. Met a fellow scout (the only plus point). Same problem - both of us tracked to a waypoint and nothing was there... apart from heavy mobs. So please remove the waypoint.

Last night, while running around Corellia (all over), mask scent never failed. I do mean never. I ran straight through numerous camps of aggressive mobs (red con, white con, blue con, you name it) and never had anything aggro.

However, I also never received exp for any of the mobs. Not 1 xp from any of them (red con, white con, blue con, you name it).

I'd say Mask Scent is bugged and in a strange way.

Maybe you guys are all way too uber for me to notice (I am still cranking through the last bit of Survival XP to get Master Scout, but I do have Exploration 4)....

But it seems like everyone has been testing out /maskscent versus aggressive (red) critters. The patch message stated that there was a chance of being attacked if detected with /maskscent up, and it is the truth - for both aggressive (red) and nonaggressive (yellow) critters!

Yes, that is correct - if you have /maskscent up and are detected by a yellow critter, there is a chance that it will aggro on you, even though it would never attack you if you didn't have /maskscent up.

This will really put the whammy on young scouts just trying out /maskscent for the first time. When they walk past a lair of nonaggressive kima or tortur, only to get detected, jumped, and pwned, they will never use /maskscent again. I really hope this is a bug. Could you please mention this alongside the other /maskscent problems in your Correspondence, DeltaXi?

Thanks!

Hey all,

I am not yet Master Scout either but thought I'd throw my info in as well:

Mask Scent definitely works better as far as protection, but still little to no exp.

Camping is better. Im grinding through Survival IV now, (last box to Master woot!)

I have also had several instances of traps not registering anything at all when throw. No confirmation of hit/miss/failed to affect or anything.

Other than that things seem to be going well. No complaints at all about the patch. I'd really like to see the Dev's implement some of the cool ideas being floated around by users for Ranger as well as Scout on the Ranger board, but that is another post.

Good Gaming!

Bug in Survival:

I just moved up from Survival II to Survival III. Survival III adds a +10 to camping and according to the description is supposed to increase the heal modifier. Checking on camp status reveals the same .65 heal modifier. No differece b/w Survival 2 and 3 other then the double forage. The heal modifier bonus does not appear to take effect, or at the very leas does not display on the tent. i'm using the muitliperson camp kit.

Jedi,

Unless I am mistaken, the heal modifier only changes with a new camp type.

You'll get a bit faster XP with the +10 camping, but as far as my experience shows, you won't notice a healing different unless you use a different kind of camp.

Quote from the skill tree iteself for survival III

"At this skill level, the Scout's camps will not only heal faster, but also repel more powerful creatures".

Heal faster implies...well healing faster to me. Thanks for the response though!

Explorer Missions:

Ahhh, I've figured the Butterfly problem. Drone's don't count. So I've shot a few drones and not seen any message telling me on the number I need to kill now because it's just 45 butterflies not butterfly drones. Clever that.

Also, I suggest you pick two different explorer missions. I know it's obvious but don't go for the same creature. So far the butterflies are the most scarce (and hence the higher cash prize). But there are lots of Durnis/ Gubbars/ Rasps which fetch a 2k price tag for 45(the Rasps are new aren't they? I never noticed them before).

Overall I'm enjoying the explorer missions even though they take longer. Patience is our game though.

ONE issue: If we are scouts and track creatures, then why should they not be there when we come back to find them after doing a search of an area? ie I go hunting Butterflies and Durnis. I spot a few Gubbars and record their lair's position. Presumably, like most creatures, they wouldn't change position every few hours. They'd be there for days/months at least. Unless some bigger beastie / scout gets them first. So as part of the 'Explorer' ideology (we're scouts, we explore, we know the terrain and the creatures like the back of our hand), shouldn't lairs be fixed for a certain period or until destroyed? I know it makes life easier for some but it doesn't make sense that the creatures move so much. Does it?

Destroy missions: Shame they reduced the cash amount cos I was making a killing BUT the explorer missions are better suited to the scout lifestyle methinks. Not sure how the other professions are finding this.

Camping: I find I'm getting more XP now.

Maskscent: Tried a few times on lower end creatures but still no joy. I go prone. Stay at 60m (rifle range) and sit there waiting. Then a message states maskscent has worn off. Or I get fed up and fire off a few shots (virtually instakill headshot on a durni) and maskscent either stays intact (but no XP) or I'm detected.

I'm not particularly fussed about Maskscent anyway but could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thank goodness for the Camp XP. That's helping a lot.

Lair Looting: This is great fun. I've got live bats, eggs, all kinds of stuff. Some of it pretty tasty (eggs - flavour 945!). So do we count these in the same pricing as meat/hide/bone or considering the rarity do we up the price more? What do you think?

Overall gameplay: First lag I noticed since playing for a week yesterday in the hills north - Ok it was a Friday night (UK time however so still quiet for you folks). But no creatures near me and I was solo. /shrug

Overall: Quite happy because it could get very boring seek/hunt/destroy when I know where I'm headin'. Now it really does feel like scouting and dodging heavy mobs.

*****

as a side issue which is not scouting - LOVE the roulette: what a great way to blow your hard earned money / make easy money. Depending on your night. I made 5k in 10 minutes.

Recon mis doesnt seem to work.

I took two missions yesterday on Roriand run to the waypoint. When i was there i just got the message "mission incomplete" - and nothing was there either...

The explorer missions are too "hard" / take too much time to find and kill 45 / 30 / 15critters with all the execeptions "male, female, dish, dash, doo, daaa.." either give us some waypoints or some tracking tools or raise the missions reward up to 20k+
