I actually thought the latest patch was a good thing for us scouts. It had taken me a week to get halfway up level 4 survival, and in one night, I was able to get the other half. granted, it was with another person, but I was getting 650+ survival xp from having 2 people in a multiperson camp in 8 minutes. eight is great!!! So maybe the latest patch was a good thing for just lil ole me.


mask scent, on the other hand is pointless. worse than pointless, because whenever my maskscent fails (when there are NO creatures around me btw and I haven't been moving, just sitting in camp) a narglatch matriarch spawns on top of me and slays me.


I guess that's what I get for enjoying the new patch.

This is a copy of the email I just sent to Q on our current issues.

I've asked the Scouting community to get me as many as they can ASAP so I
can forward them along to you in an effort to help you out.

Here's the list we have so far (I can't confirm these from experience
because I'm at work). I've asked the guys to /bug them so you'll see them as well:

1.) Maskscent - It appears as if the Maskscent causing creatures to aggro is
not giving a message about it being broken before the creature attacks.

"Maskscent is NOT working. Was once again attacked WITH maskscent active and
going near some Purbole Stalkers. Maskscent icon stay on the whole time, no
messages about "why" it attacked.. It just does not seem to work.. or at
least not as it did."

2.) Camping XP - It seems that camping XP has been drastically reduced. Here
are some posts on it:

"My first camp (basic camp) only netted me 340 at the full 55 minute depop.
I'm on my second camp now and will start looking at the time that camp reaches
max xp vs xp given next. More to follow"

"At full 55 minute spawn multi person camps are giving 627. I m now looking
at the time. Prepatch with no healing or visitors my camps maxed out in 30
minutes. I ll let you know what I find "

"Ok, they have done a major revamp of camp xp. With 7 visitors and some
minor healing in camp (you would think in the middle of a noobian swamp I would be alone(sigh)) I pulled in 657 at a 15 minute disband so aparently 627 is not
the max the camp can pull in"

Then again, maybe this is just for those lower level camps. This just got
posted 10 seconds ago:

"For anyone looking to be a Ranger, I made an Improved Camp. With wounds
and only one vistor I netted a little over 860 exp in 15minutes. Not bad, with
visitors you can probably max it out. Just thought I'd let everyone know"

3.) Explorer missions - These seem to be bugged.

"I have been having problems with the explorer missions too. I take a 295 m
mission to the NE of Kaadraa and it doesnt give me a waypoint indicator on
the screen. So i check the options to make sure i have it set to show the arrow
and i do. So i check the world map and the mission waypoint is set dead
center in the middle of the world map. No mateer how many times i switch missions it keeps the waypoints dead center on world map. There is no way that a 295 M mission should be half way around the planet. It has to be broke. "

So far these are the issues that have come up. Everyone loves the new
waypoint monitor. I'll keep monitoring the situation and I'll let you know if any more problems come up.

I've been testing maskscent ever since I logged on.. Nothing so far. I've been detected a couple of times, which is better than usual (not sure if yellows break it still) but the scary thing is that I'm not getting any xp out of it at all. I'm currently sitting int he middle of a diseased vrelt lair, maskscent on, about 20 vrelts aroudn me (what's up with that btw, have they upped lair spawning?) and not a shred of xp.

Another question.. Has anyone noticed that some lairs have orange health bars now? Wazzat?

Also, did they add new creatures? I saw a 'Great Plains Walker' on Corellia just now.. Never seen one before, so I was wondering if it was there before.

Heh.. They've fixed the 'pick up' bug on chairs and camp status things.

There goes MY plan of holding other scout's camps hostage till they agreed to sit in my camp for hours on end

yup /markscent doesn't seem to be working anymore.


Before the patchyou would be hidden from red mobs (xp gain) or detected by reds mobs (markscent cancelled and sometimes mob goes agro), or detected by yellow mobs (mark scent cancelled, no xp, no agro).


Now nothing happens at all, I run circles around red mobs and I get no message of xp gain and no message of being detected.


/shouts 'hot fix the old markscent back in!'.. I'm so close to Master Scout, just a few more scouting xp


I'm also getting 50% packet loss and lots of lag but that just might be because I'm a poor European player with only a 64k connection, may or may not be the patch.

More to add:



  • Camp XP - This seemed like an area of concern so I went through several camps last night and found that I was getting abetter rate ofXP ( used multi-person ) than pre-patch. I would say that this area has been somewhat successful.

  • Harvesting Corpses - I noticed a wierd thing happen when I would harvest corpses. I would not always get a message as to what I received. If I tried to harvest it again after failing to get any message, I wouldn't get the Harvest option in the radial menu. I didn't do a before/aftercheck on Scouting XP since I didn't know when it would happen ( only happened about 3 times last night ). I don't know if this is related to the trap issue in the post above, but it sure seems similar.

To all,



I noticed the following bugs :



1) When foraging several times the same ressource, they are put in the general inventory but never stacked. If you transfer them in a backpack, they get stacked. The system does not automaticaly stack the system created items.



2) I ran a foraging macro for 6 hours and the system continued to forage even when my inventory was full. I never received any warning message nor a cancellation of the foraging action. Is it normal ?

Delta.


Spent a good deal of time camping yesterday. While in camp did some foraging. Several times got a message saying great success in forage, then one syaing somethings foraged were lost due to inventory full. At the time my inventory was at 76% capacity. I /bugged the problem but am letting you know as requested. Also the can't forage while running bug has gotten worse apparently.

I believe that the /forage errors (because I got them myself yesterday) are due to the known bug of Master Scouts not being able to forage more than one item at a time - if you pull up your max of 3 it gives you that error. The Scout dev knows about this bug, and has acknowledged it to me in the past.


The problem with the patch, as far as I am concerned, is that we haven't been provided enough information on the exact details of the changes so that we can evaluate what was an existing bug and what is a new one.

I also had one occasion of launching a multi-person camp and I was floating about 6' of the ground over the camp. Was able to lower easily and it never reoccurred. Thought it was a new skill I had learned (Scout Levitation).

The floating creatures ...


I noticed that sometimes, the creatures are respawned in a tree ...


Once they move, they get back to the ground but it is always funny to notice a Vrelt looking at you from 5' above !
