Thanks for therational and well thought out post, I appreciate it! I think I got it now. You have a similar problem us BHs have, although not quite as severe. We were once the flavor of the month and then other classes were brought up and we were brought down a little. Only difference is once you master CH you can master any of the other core combat professions and still have 52 points left over to dabble in another profession. Once you go MBH you have 33 points you can dabble with and there are only three viable trees you can choose from (Medic, Pistoleer and Carbineer). CHs can put together a very effective combat template. Maybe not the most effective PvP template, but, in PvE you can be VERY effective. But, to BHs advantage we have content that isn't availble to any of the other professions (Jedi bounties and NPC Bounty missions). So that's a plus for us.
Sounds like both CH and BH are dealing with similar issues, though. So I can sympathize. We were both balanced for the combat balance and told to wait and see and now the balance isn't coming for a long time and we're both left waiting...
