my point is it is not a necesity to group with your pet, in other words IF ITS BUGGED DONT USE IT, if you would just simply look at your radar, or have your pet targeted, while your hunting, there is no need for you to group.


also you could get to where your going pop out a camp pop out your pet and disband

Yeah. This is great news for Scouts. Now all of that grinding for Scout skills is going to the profession that needs the XP rather than General Crafting points that many of us will never use. Sure, costs are higher, but the advantage is that there's a lot less time spent on camping now that the same points can also be earned by making your tents. Besides that, this gives you more reason to harvest, if you haven't been doing so already.

I gotta call you on this one Delta, 'cause I believe your argument is flawed. Hunting and harvesting are sequential activities, not simultaneous. You can't acquire rifle and melee XP at the same time because you can't shoot and punch at the same time. Hunting and harvesting, on the other hand, don't occur at the same time. First we hunt, then we harvest. They're distinct.


That said, it seems to me the CHs can /disband to harvest, then regroup their pets afterward. It's not that difficult or time consuming.


THAT said, the reduction in resource harvesting should be fixed such that it applied only to player characters in a group, not to droids and pets in a group. The object in the fix was to allow all players to share in the spoils, and to stop ninja harvesting. Since droids and pets were never able to harvest in the first place, they shouldn't be counted against the group post-patch.

Sound thinking only if scouts are grouping. However, there are a great deal of players that have zero interest, time or motivation to group. The current 'find group' method is easily one of the worst I have seen not too mention the sheer lack of group necessity which prevents players from LFG to begin with.


For those players that are not members of PA's or who play 1-2 hours a night, this move hurts them as they are now forced to find a group in order to reap what rewards were previously available to them to begin with.


IMO, this move does nothing to assist the 'casual player', the loner or those without a player infrastructure to support their hunting needs.


Hopefully, they will correct the issue so that solo scouts are no longer hampered by the desire to improve the desire to group.







I couldn't agree more. I don't hunt with a pet. I've never even had a pet. The increase in materials cost for making traps and camps hurts. As does the nerf (for some time now) in Survival XP for setting camps. What we've wound up with is scouting XP that's about right, and trapping/survival xp that's turned the game into even more of a grind.


As for playing in groups: I shouldn't be handicapped for not being in a group. I play on Kauri. I started there to join a friend, who has since quit the game. I was NOT aware that the dev's had designated it the "unofficial French-speaking server". I see very few groups on this server. Once in a while I see someone getting a group together to hunt krayts (twice in 3 weeks, playing contantly). And I have seen two players with "LFG" above their names.


I don't know that this server being the "unofficial French" server has anything to do with that. It may be that way on all servers. I am of the opinion, however, that the label of French server has resulted in fewer new players than other servers, and a smaller population. I am seriously considering starting over on another server.


Are things any different elsewhere? Or is the player population of this game just stagnant and is there just not any incentive to grouping?
