Thread: Scout isn't all that appealing after this latest patch.
has anyone ever tried NOT grouping with their pet?
is there any reason you have to be grouped?
do CH have to group to get xp?
im not a CH but i have a pet bantha and there's no reason i see that youabsolutly need to be grouped.
i bought my bantha from a master CH so i can group with him.
so the only reason you group is so you can see its health and distance?.... soo if your hunting you cant just NOT group and sacrafice those two "vital" stats?
i dont quite see the problem here...
oh and guns dont take hits for you, just thought i'd add that
why the heII is grouping with your pet so dam important?
this is possibly the stupidest argument i have ever heard, sure it may bea bug, but why is there such a commotion when theres suchan obvious easy and simple "work around"
that and they nerfed knock downs and posture changes, so that doesn't really help your whining pathetic argument.
suck it up losers, you guys are the reason it makes me said to be a ch. I think its time to stop b&ming and start acting like adults. if you don't like it... DON"T DO IT. if you don't like being a scout, don't be a scout. if you don't like swg don't play swg. but please, for the love of god, shut up about reduced harvests. its not that bad.

Heh, now who isn't being mature? "If you don't like it just quit." Now that is a real mature response. I like the game. I like being a scout. This new feature I don't like and I am giving feedback about it on the dev boards. If you don't like hearing people talk about what is wrong with the game, don't come to these boards because that is one of their main functions. And the time to worry for developers is when no one is complaining, because that likely means there is no one left to complain.
As to why grouping with pets is so important. Why is grouping with people so important? Why don't you just go out as a mob and kill things without bothering to group? You can always use a chat group to keep in contact, so it isn't that. The reason you group is so you can keep your group together and keep an eye on each other's status. The same goes for grouping with pets. With pets it is even worse, if they fall behind they don't let you know, and since they have no clue on how to fix the pet pathing issues (last word from Holocron, "We're stuck on it at the moment, to be honest.") they tend to fall behind a lot if you are covering lots of ground. They also don't tend to speak up when they have taken more damage than you would like. So, the work around isn't a very viable one in many situations.
You asked, and I answered. Now, tell my why you are so headstrong to defend bad programing? If you bought a new car and the electric seat didn't work, you wouldn't accept a phonebook as a viable work around. You would want the stupid seat fixed. Well, I am not willing to shut up and use some crappy work around. I am telling them it is broken and I want it fixed ASAP. Heck, it would be nice if they wouldat least acknowledge the problem and what they intend to do about it.
Okay, why can't I get rifle XP and melee XP at the same time?
You can. Attack with a rifle, then switch to melee. Don't you get XP for both?
Camping? If you are sitting there as an artisan crafting, you get the crafting XP, do you not? Do you STOP getting the camping XP because yo're crafting? No.
We scout/rangers go into combat, and toss traps in between shooting, we get XP for it, right? We still get the weapon AND combat XP on top of it right? That's THREE different types of XP. Explain to me how using traps is different than having a pet do damage? Should we NOT get ANY weapon/combat XP if we throw even ONE trap during a fight?
Ent's get healing AND dancing/music XP at the same time right?
Sorry, but your reasonng is flawed. There are many, many examples of getting more than one type of XP while doing the same task.

Could you explain what you mean by "taking XP away"?

Delta, this happened to me last night. I logged in late, just to buy a new LLC, and shot a squall on the way, just to see if resources had changed....and WHAM, "you have lost 60,000 scouting exp".
I was capped at 100,000 xp, but I have been selling Ranger skills back to get my BH skills. I assume that the patch caught up with the bug that allowed me to keep that 100,000 xp when it was more than twice my next Ranger level.
Darth,
"You can. Attack with a rifle, then switch to melee. Don't you get XP for both?"
How is this different than my suggestion to either get CH XP or get the hunting XP?
We can argue this round and round. You've made your point, and I've made mine. We're not going to agree, but I've passed your concern along already - see the post I made in SWG Discussions under one that Holo made about the Ranger changes.

Sue,
It's not bad programming from our perspective.
"If you bought a new car and the electric seat didn't work, you wouldn't accept a phonebook as a viable work around."
This analogy isn't what we're talking about. The change here is not bad programming - it's simply something you don't like because it alters your playstyle.
But here's the simply truth: it alters ALL of our playstyles.
We've gone round and round about this, and I've already presented your alternatives to the Devs. So running around here, telling the Devs that their programming is shoddy, etc. isn't constructive. We've heard it. This isn't a political campaign. You don't need to buy 1000 GRPs and pray that someone hears your message and remembers it.
I've passed the complaint that you, Saka, and DarthEric had on.
Now can we please let this die? I'm really sick and tired of debating it.
