Thread: Why go the CH route?
Hastur,
I did answer this before, but to sum it up quickly:
1.) All they do is whine.
2.) They hate scouting and just want to blow through the exploration and hunting trees as fast as they can to get to CH.
3.) They're really whiny.
4.) They are unable to read any posts and they have no patience.
5.) Did I mention the whining?
Now, I'm of course speaking in the very general sense. There are many CHs who I really like, especially those that frequent our boards. But its still fun to poke them.

You can, and with enough points to spare for two lines in a novice skill (I'm planning on pistol and ranged support 4)
Alpha,
Yeah, but its rare for an Imp to post a message like:
'GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!! This suxxors soOOOOOO much! y do i have to be a scout b4 i can b a ch? why do u have to kill aminals b4 u can train them?!?!?!?!?!? this is dumbb!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!111"

Sorry you guys have such a bad impression of the proff. I understand where you get it from though. Please know not all of us are like that and it isn't all its made out to be. Hope your opinion gets better some day ![]()
Stivik,
Leave it to a CH to start arguing etymology with me. ![]()

Now, see I was thinkin' all the hot Bothians and Zabracks I seem to attract with my ranger field base was the best part of the game.
Tee hee hee.
well in fact it s the same word in english...
<-- dumb !
(no edit on those forums ?

I'm of two minds when it comes to pets. First, like most people, my initial reaction is "CH? No way! I'm sick of wading through pets at the cantina/med center, and I'm not gonna climb on the "leet dude/latest fad" bandwagon.
But I can also see the fun factor in taming pets. If you just want to have a MOB at your side to help you in PvP or against red-conned MOB's, wait on the fixes to BE and DE that will be coming in the near future. In fact, I believe that when they make droids and BE-created pets competitive with wild pets, a lot of the CH hysteria will die down.
One of the other posters emphasized his or her fascination with the process of taming...creeping up on a lair, etc. I think I would really enjoy the challenge of that, and the sense of accomplishment when you finally get that baby graul tamed.
I think there is a lot of fun to be had here, and I'm probably going to take it up at some point. I'll just wait until the leet doods that want to roxxor in PvP move on (as they inevitably will).
And I don't thing Brisc resents the profession of CH nearly as much as he resents some of the folks who constantly whine because they're afraid their uber profession is gonna get whacked with the nerf bat ![]()
I think, as someone else already pointed out, that those pursuing CH fall into2-3 basic camps:
a) the player how has always enjoyed 'pet' classes, i.e. the necro, ranger, beastmaster, spiritmaster, etc.
b) the RP'er who enjoys the wandering, lone element that the role of scout/creature handler gives
c) the 5up3r l337 pl@y3r that will p[lay any class so long as the can r0x4r5 j00.
Myself, I wanted a toon that primarily depended on himself and himself alone. I travel the galaxy, searching for the perfect spot to setup camp and my home, and simply enjoy the travels along they. Rather then travel with a noisy, possibly reckless player, I prefer to travel with the animals of the land. We keep each other company, well feed and safe as well. If I can bring back a rare animal for the masses who never travel beyond 500m of Bestine, Theed, etc. to witness, and possibly motivate them to 'get outdoors' then my job is done.
Killing 10, 100 or 10k other players is not my goal (I can play UT, CS or Lineage for that), I simply want to roam the lands, see what I can find and chart my way. If SWG had more of a point to PvP beyond bragging rights (let's face it, bragging about a toon in game is shallow and shows a severe lack of self-esteem in my opinion) maybe my attitude would be different.
Deg,

Bingo.
