Thread: Hide and bone prices -- what do YOU charge?
JawaBerserker, everyone seems to buy . . . Cooks, Medic, especially Artisans and Engineers. If they craft they will buy. Moslty, I have seen those that benifit the most from crafting items seem to buy the most.
Just my .2 credits worth.
Neomniter, that's a tough call there. I have seen Insect Meat go anywhere from 1 to 10 cr./unit. It's hard to say. Depends what the demand is on your server.
First, check the prices in the Bazaar across your galaxy and compare. See what the price is per unit and how long the items have been sitting. Also look to see if they are set up in stacks of 50 or more.
Then I would suggest start splitting it into stacks of 100 and put them up one or two at a time and start them off at 3cr./unit. If they sell relatively fast, crank up the price on the next few stacks you sell. Rinse and repeat until you find a happy ceiling in pricing.
I haven't found a ceiling as of yet, and I am charging 4cr./unit on a stack of 100. They sell within 1 to 2 days realtime.
Hope that helps ![]()
I'm selling mine on Bria in Coronet, Corellia for usually 7cr/hide. I talked to an artisan the other day who happened to buy up a pack of 200 for 1400 credits. I happened to have about 3000 hides on me at the time, and i was wondering if he wanted to make a direct trade. I told him 7 credits was the going rate, but that i'd give him 6 in the interest of further doing business with him. He then told me he has only bought at 5credits per hide. Well...I can play the haggle game too, and i was willing to play along, but we ended up agreeing on 5 credits for the whole lot. Then i got to thinking about how he bought my last lot at 7credits and i canceled the deal with him and put them up on the bazaar. I cheched this morning before i left for work and I haven't sold them yet, which makes me think priced may be going down.
I also noticed there isn't a single hide on the Talus market, so i left a pack of 200 hides there for 7c/hide and they have set to sell either. It seems Coronet is where all the artisans are, but it's hard to rationalize travel between different planets just to come back to Corellia where all the artisans are. I ussually just end up staying on Corellia for the most part, but I think I have some business to take care of on Tatooine(anyone seen a pistoleer trainer on Corellia?).
We just need to find where the majority of crafters spend their time, but i think prices from 5-8 credits are reasonable. And remember, We ARE dealing with artisnas here. It's in their nature to be greedy. Unlike us scout/rangers that enjoy the piece and quiet of the outdoors.
I am buying others low priced hide, high quantity volumes and resaling them in lower quanitity volumes at a higher price.
some was selling 500 leathery for 2000. I bought, the split up into 5 x 100 and sold for 800 each. So, do the math, take advantage of the low ballers. My 100 sell withing a day.
People keep buying, so that's what I sell at. If people were buying at 20cr/unit, I'd sell them for that.
I'm selling 10 c. the unit. They sell pretty well. Something I found funny was that last night I wanted to trade (with a/shout) 80 bones, 25 letherly hide and 20 scaly hides for 800 and a guy started to say it was a rip-off and nobody wanted the trade. Well, before loginout I put those items for sale in the bazaar at my stardard price and when I log in today I had made 1190 c. with those 3 same items (800+250+200-60 *bazaar charge*).
I need those credits. I may be a scout, but the nice outfits aren't cheap and I'm sick of the starting outfit.
I charge 5cr per Hide just to offload them quickly. I usually sell them within minutes of shouting the sale soI imagine I could sell them for more. Also, I have noticed strangely enough that people will actually pay MORE if you sell them in large lots. I guess people just like to have a lot on hand.

I sell my hides/bones for 6 credits a unit, unless it is a person that i know well or is a really good customer, then ill go as low as 3 credits a unit, andi find that my prices are very reasonable and i have the same customers came back to me wanting more and they get more, and i get good deals on droids and buildings and armor and weapons and everything, cause i give my friends and the ppl that can help me good deals. I dont hurt the economy at all, not really worried about it, cause all I do to make money is sell bone and hide and i almost always have at least 50k credits, and that's going back and forth between planets and buying expensive weapons every few days and tipping good.
And the ppl selling for 7-10 credits a unit, go right ahead, but once they find out someone else is selling for cheaper, guess who makes more money, ME!
so you guys hike your prices, ill keep my reasonable.
