Actually, Master Scout could make a difference. You get +20 to camoflage at master scout.

But that's too late for most of us to make much use of it. Easier to grind to novice CH than to take the hours needed to master scout first.

Im not sure if this is what he means but this worked for me ever since the nerf. Take a destroy mission that has aggro mobs, head to lair and get prone make sure you use maskscent. When you first attack the mob it will make a scent check, if you are prone you have a better chance of getting a success and XP. Once the the lair is clear and you start attacking it every time a mob spawns it makes a check... voila more XP. This works very well with Explore III but once you hit Explore IV the XP goes way down. I found you can usally get off 3 to 4 shots before the mob makes it sight check and comes scampering up to you. Also if something breaks your maskscent before you have a chance to engage, just wait out the 60 sec and try again.

BTW - i strongly feel that this is no exploit - it makes PERFECT sense.

Another hint - you have to get the monster to breach your radius - not vice versa.

Yeah I learned this..I snuck up near a red mob..MS'd and didn't move..but as the MOB moved near me I gained XP and they did NOT reveal me...still..hard to produce since most of the time they don't move..etc..and you have to find a red mob with not yellows near..etc..

Still ..MS is useless...this works if you are just trying ot gain XP..but who cares about XP I want the skill to work.

i agree with shifter, i dont want maskscent to just be some lame tool to raise explore exp, i want it to be something that lets me run by agressive creatures without getting mauled, what its SUPOSED to do. it never does that

Hell, I'd be happy with 20%, out of the 3-4 dozens times I have tried, I have yet to have a success.

With Explore 3 I have a 1100% failure rate. I'd be suprised to hear some "facts" about 100% success rate.

Well - sorry bout the wait.

Things came up -

I am happy to say this works on dantooine as well.

HOWEVER - the catch is - you cant attack if you dont want to be detected 100% of the time. If you just kick back and lay low - i was undetected for as long as i didnt attack.

Here are the steps -if you didnt already know- as i have not really taken the time to read all the posts yet - ill go back.

1.) get a probot - i would imagine any pet with a ranged attack would work.

2.) do not group with your pet.

3.) go to a hard mob planet - like dantooine.

4.) getabout 75k away from a given target.

4.5) maskscent

5.) ungrouped - send the pet in for an atack - probots have range- so they will move in about 30-40k from the target, sit, and attack -this will draw the target inside your detect radius (it will attack your bot).

6.) chill

7.) get scout xp

8.) rinse

9.) repeat

in game tips will be appreciated - the more difficult the creature rating - the higher scout xp youll get. not rocket science - but im amazed how i hadnt seen anyone post on this yet

someone bring me a generic crafting tool please - mine will no longer boot crafting sessions - weird.

another thing i forgot to mention

typically - aggro mobs on dantooine like to "gank" their targets. quite often from an attack on e one creature - you end up getting attacked by 3 or more. this works out well for my method.

"someone bring me a generic crafting tool please - mine will no longer boot crafting sessions - weird."

If you crafted with you inventory full, it places the item in the queue of the Generic Crafting Tool. When you make room in the inventory and try to boot the crafting station it won't let you.

Try going to inventory, Bring up Radial Menu on crafting tool. HOVER over Start Crafting Session, it should give you an option to retrieve the item that is in the queue of the Generic Crafting Tool.

You should now be able to boot your Generic Crafting Tool.

Hope this was your problem, if you already knew this sorry for the post. Hopefully it helps someone.
