You USED to be able to do this, but it was recently taken away. It kinda makes sense to not be able to double milk a creature. And in all honesty, post-mortem milking seems kinda gross.

Just tried milking some good quality milk on Endor... what a nightmare..
Every single mob teleported 100m or more away from me... AND above me... had to use like 3-4 attempts per mob. If this is the way of milking currently, i'm gonna strangle the next dev i bump into.

I had this exact same problem on endor... except when I finally did milk the creature, no milk showed up in my inventory

Does milking generate XP of any kind? I have never noticed.
Pickets are good. Bagersets, humbabas, and eopies are decent.

I don't recall seeing any xp for milking either... maybe it should be survival xp?
it'd also be nice to get a partial collection for a partial success -- maybe each time you get a 'continue to milk' message, it notches up and you collect whatever you're notched to when the creature suddenly invokes its force powers to teleport or levitate away from you?
lately, I've been trying to collect milk too, for a chef friend. I think I got less than 1k last night on Dath, milking critters as I found them then using Tracking to try to find more... yet, in the same time span, I grabbed almost 5k of hides without really trying

But i mean... check this:
Oobofo Endorian Domesticated Milk
DR: 191
FL: 141
PE: 920
OQ: 991
And it's impossible to get since the mobs teleport all over the place...

I've been know to go on mad milking sprees on Dantooine from time to time, and some of the local Ahazi chefs have loved getting 9-20k stacks of milk from me a few times. I generally start by pulling a couple of piket missions in the same direction. Head out, hit the first lair, milk everything in sight. (and yes, curse repeatedly when they warp or levitate away right before the "Success" message).
Normal Ranger hunting, tap the lair, 2nd wave spawns, milk then kill, etc. When done with that lair, move to the 2nd mission lair and repeat. Then I mostly /areatrack and go after whatever other wild spawn are in the area, and bounce around between them for a while.
It's not always super quick, but I've got a chef that will pay anywhere from 20-50 CPU for milk depending on the stack size, ANY quantity (higher prices for larger stacks). While that's happening, I'm also harvesting meat or hide, whatever I can get more for. If I can't sell it, guildies get free grind stuff, or I'll drop it into a recycler if I can ever get off my lazy Ranger butt and get all the parts to make one.
AND I'm searching the lair for eggs (got a BE who'll pay 20cpu for eggs, any quantity - that's gravy money). AND I'm getting Scout, Rifle, Combat and Trapping XP to trade in at the village. AND I'm getting around 9-10K per mission. That's a lot of credits, organics, and expfor reallywhat amounts to very little time and effort. Yeah, the warping is a PITA. But it's worth it in the long run, since it's helped me make some contacts where I get stuff cheap or free, or am working trades for things I need (pet stims, various foods, etc).
I really, really still do hate it, tho, when you are just moments away from success... and the blasted things warp 60 or 100m away. But then, making 200k credits "extra" on a 9k stack of milk with some pretty crap stats, on top of the XP and credits I got off the missions + selling organics from the wild spawn... yeah, it's nice. Probably not for everyone, and like hunting unbuffed and unarmored it takes longer, but hey - I'm here for the long haul. I've got more credits than I can spend currently since I really only *need* to buy foods, and I'm sitting on another 1+ million worth of Lok herbivore meat and counting (gotta love the good long spawns), so why NOT spend time collecting milk to get on the good side of our resident uber chef?

I did a little test... took the mission i needed to get milk from... 5 mobs... ran into the center of the lair... and waited.. within 15 seconds, all the mobs was gone... they warped 100m away all of them... in different directions... ALL the damn mobs. Now they fixed the player-rubberbanding... fix the creature-teleport next plz.

Just out of interest, does anyone know the mechanics of group milking?
What I mean is, when in a group can everyone milk the same creature or is it limited to only one person milking it?
If everyone can, do they suffer the 40% harvesting reduction?

in my experience, once a creature has been milked, it is dry and you cannot harvest milk from this creature, whether grouped or not, I may be wrong on that, it's been awhile, but . . . pretty sure multiple milking won't work.

This is true. But if you have two or three lairs nearby, you can milk them in sequence and by the time your'e done with all three lairs, the first will be ready to go again. This is second hand info though, as I have never really tried it myself.
