ok I did not explain that well....

If you are not fighting, just the probot, make a camp and sit there while the probot fights (earning the horrible survival exp) duck out of camp to harves and then duck back in, Store and recall the bot as needed.

I've got Exloration IV, almost have Trapping IV & Hunting IV, and have not bought a Probot (yet..after reading these posts, I'm quite tempted), I mainly just took destroy missions, killing everything along to the way, right now I'm on Lok, though, killing Langlatches (sp?), they are extremely slow, and give excellent exp. They are so slow, if you ever get killed by one, you are a moron.

bout my probot, and just starting racking up the xp... but the most fun i've had was killing shauputs (sp?) hard to kill, and 221 xp... more fun, cause its not so trivial and there is a chance i could get killed...

I second that. BANTHAS.

I was fortunate enough to stumble onto two bantha lairs within close proximity of each other earlier this evening. I did trapping 4 entirely in 20 minutes. And I tamed a couple baby Dune Bantha's.

Heres what I do with banthas.

Send the probot to a bantha (follow target) I get about 35 meters away from the bantha and instruct the probot to attack. I proceed to lob 6 traps (164 xp each) at the bantha while my probot kicks it's arse. Here's my trap combo. I throw mesh trap first then the blind trap then the dizzytrap then that lametrap that's something dart that you can make as a newbie.Whenever one of the trapeffects wears off of the bantha I throw another one that would induce that effect.

Then you harvest the corpse for ~34 hides/bones and 164 xp. I also got 150-250 carbine xp for each kill. Dune Bantha's are yellow mobs so you can hang out in the middle of 10 of them with no fear of attack. None of them come to the rescue when you are killing one either.

Heres how I souped up exploring and hunting quickly.

Find an agro mob. Send the probot in and have him attack 1 of the creatures. Hopefully all the creatures will swarm the probot. I would then sit back and pick off each creature (pistol) first with health shot then bodyshot2. My favorite creature to do this with were the scyk's (tatooine). The probot would always attract 3-4 of them and each one would yeild great scout xp and pistol xp. I don't remember exact figures but it was well worth it.

PROBOT.

This is the best thing a scout could own. I am on Ahazi server and I bought mine for 30k from Drizz. Mines not even the best model and he can own creatures unbelievably. You have to be careful because there are quite a few creatures that can incap a probot and if the probot were to die you would have to purchase a new one. There is no maintenance requirement what-so-ever for a probot. If he's low on battery or his HAM is getting low just pop him into your datapad and pop him out 2 seconds later good as new. I believe the probot might be bugged though. As far as I know you are only supposed to be able to retrieve him from your datapad if you are in a camp, town, or house. For some reason I can pop my probot out of my datapad almost anywhere other than a camp, town, or house.

Hope this helps.

Are probots effective for marksman XP too? I assume you can use the ProBot as a "tank" while you keep attacking the mob? Even though the probot probably takes alot of your xp, you'd be able to kill harder mobs than normally...

I forgot.

Heres how I got camping xp raelly fast.

Location:

There is a place on Tatooinne at -4030, 6516 thats called Fort Tusken. No, this is not the wimpy camp Tusken outside of wayfar. This is a huge fort that is about a 15 minute walk north of Mos Espa. The fort is huge and full of angry Tuskens and their Bantha mounts. On Ahazi server we usually have 15-14 people there in the evenings killing Tuskens. The fort is on a hill in a huge valley. Across the valley from the front door fo the fort is where there are usually 3 or 4 camps set up full of wounded people.

What I do there to get mad camping xp:

First of all I have novice medic and novice entertainer skills. I set up a multiperson camp across from the fort where everyone decompresses after a battle. Bassically I just hang out in a choice spot and pitch a tent every 5 minutes. I whip out my musical instrument and play a tune and heal injured people that are near. This seems to attract people to my camp. This helps me get full camping xp for that tent in a rather short period of time. It took me 2 hours to get camping 4 using this method. It can be done a lot faster but the server crashed i think 3 times and I did some fighting too.

On saturday there was a huge tusken raid with well over 1 hundred people there. Checking my camp statistics once it said that I had 65 visitors and 33 people in my camp at that moment. This is the place to be to get camping xp if you are on Ahazi server or some other server that has constant fort tusken raids.

Yes probots are excellent for marksman. I convinced a friend of mine to purchase a probot today. He bought a top of the line model for 40k. He had 15k xp towards Pistoleer when he bought it. 3 hours later when I talked to him he had the 125k xp for novice pistoleer and was over half way to his first pistoleer skill.

I am a marskman too. need carbine 4 and Ill be master. I would say that using a probot is the fastest way Ive found to get combat xp. Just take on huge creatures and the combat and weapon xp will flow.

Yeah, thanks to this thread I bought a Probot two days ago. Piece 'o cake getting through Hunt and Trap IV this way killing Tabages on Corellia. You don't really need a probot to use and abuse Tabages, but it's a little easier - you barely have to move.

One question on using my Probot on tougher mobs: Will the mob lose aggro on my bot and focus on me if I strart to do more damage? I've been worried about this so haven't tried it on a red creature yet. Anybody have any experience with this?

FYI: To the poster asking about a good bot builder on Eclipse - go to Gilla on Naboo. I asked around earlier and he has the best rep and I've very happy with my purchase. His mansionis amazing too.

See you in game!

Well everyone , here is my experience with the probot and the fastest scouting I have seen .

I am on Corellia , I find a lair of these animals called Slice Hounds . They BAF and AGGRO so gotta be careful on the approach . Send in the droid to attack on of the hounds , and the others will all jump on top of your Probot . Probot can kill them all easily on his own , but you can hop in for some safe and effortless weapon XP

After the hounds are all dead , go to the lair and harvest all of the corpses . Command Probot to STAY , right in front of the lair . Go about 55 meters away and pump one shot into the lair . Voila , the lair will crap out 5 or 6 more hounds . Blow them all apart , rinse repeat until the lair is dead .

This is the fastest , easiest and safest way to do it , IMO . I have tried the bigger MOBs for bigger one time gains , but these are the cake . I'm two hit splitting them and getting 100 scout a pop , with several dozen per lair .

Important things to remember .... make sure probot is grouped with you so you can see his HAM bars . If he gets low you need to peace out and set up camp to recall him ( at full health for some broken reason , no condition wear and he is seemingly indestructable . I have had him incapped several times - he blows to pieces on the ground - then he just gets back up after a few seconds ) . If you are attacking a hound when your Probot gets blown scrapped guess what ... hounds 8 through 16 have a new chew toy !

Make sure you give Probot the stay command at the lair after the initial slaughtering of the hounds . Makes life a lot easier . Have him attack the first hound that gets puked out of the lair , and continue until spawn stops .

Make sure that Probot is attacking the hound and the hound is targeting the Probot BEFORE you fire a shot at any of the hounds . It sometimes takes the hound being attacked by the bot a few shots to realize where the damage is coming from and target the bot . If you are firing before he targets the bot he ( and his 6 buddies ) may target you instead .

The hounds are not pushovers they run very very fast and hit fast too , three of them or even a pair are enough to chase you into a pine box .

Well , that's all can think of to write on the subject good luck

Max
