Keep trying. It is completely random. After finding a few items, you will need to move (when the 'cannot find anything in this area' message comes up).

This is the most useful thing I've foraged. +500 mind ain't bad, even if it is only for 1 minute, and it's really filling.
Granted, I don't use them durring hardcore, composite-warrented play (canape is better), but when I'm running around killing birds on Talus, they're a nice alternative to muon incase of an emergancy.
And... it's free.

I would like to see foraged foods become components for chef products. Either in new food schematics or make them buffs for current foods (like bio-e components). Thoughts or comments?
Quoted for truth.I was just about to ask this in the Chef forum but yeah I'd like to see this too. I am so sick of foraging those stupid green pyramid things that are something like 50 filling and only give +50 to all pools for 700 seconds! They're totally useless!
Foraged foods should all be like our friend the Mind-buff Onion. +500 for 50 seconds. Leave the filling at 50 for all I care, but foraged foods should be more like this overall.

I use forage and tell people I am mooning them.
That's about as useful as I have found it.

I hate to say this, but I do the exact same thing.

The only thing worthwhile that I've foraged is bait. And I only used that until I could catch something and then filet the fish for chum. I'd then keep a couple jars in a fishing pouch for myself and sell the 5 use chum jars for about 3k on the bazaar. Everyone of them went in a day
I need to fish in a place with bigger catch now. And by the way, that fishing guides absolutely works!

It'd also be nice if we could forage up some of that phat lewt that the Devs have introduced. Not like paintings or anything like that, but items that can be used as temporary PuPs on weapons, etc.
I also think that foraged foods, since they're just scrounged up fragments of whatever is lying about, should have a much lower fill than Doc created foods. I mean what seems more filling to you? A flask of vasarian brandy, or an itty-bitty onion you dug up out of the dirt? I think that anything you forage should be less potent than something a skilled chef can craft, but it should also be less filling imo.
Also, using foraged items as some of those fancy new enhancement components, yeah.
