Sorry about that. Is there a certain skill needed to forage? If so, what is it? If not, how do you do it?

Forage, at least at the lower levels has been a bit of a hit-or-miss for me. You search, but you have no say on what you are looking for. You literally are just "scrounging" for morsels. Sometimes I will find wild fruits with good ability buffs/properties other times you pick up inedibles such as bait for fishing. Not sure what kinds of goodies one can expect at the higher survival skill levels...

It comes with either Novice Scout or Survival I, I'm too lazy to look at the skill tree. Survival levels give foraging bonuses.

What's the coolest and/or most useful thing you have ever foraged? Why are the foraged foods so underpowered? Why can't you get survival xp from foraging? What do you think the devs could do to improve forage?

I would like to see foraged foods become components for chef products. Either in new food schematics or make them buffs for current foods (like bio-e components). Thoughts or comments?

Man you got a lot of questions.

There really is nothing that usefull out there to forage.Still want the wedding cake though.Foraged items can be somewhat usefull if you need to get out of a sticky situation, well not really.

There have been ideas to implement some new foraged items to use with chef or BE things, but I doubt any of them will find its way into the game.

Yeah I'm full of 'em! Guess I'm just thinking of ways to make scout a viable profession. I was a Master Scout, but I dropped it because honestly it was a waste of skill points for me. I enjoy the bonuses from the hunting tree as I do a lot of organic resource harvesting, and the terrain negotiation is nice, but I can get bonuses for those from foods and/or droids. I never threw traps once I made Master, but I'm a TK and was pretty good at applying those states by hand. Foraging is a way underused and neglected aspect of scout/ranger that I always thought was cool. In my opinion it should be enhanced to make Survival a more desireable line besides for those wanting Squad Leader (yeah right! ) or Ranger.

Welcome to the club. We've been working on these same issues for a year and 4 months.

And hey - I'm a TK/SL, so it is useful!

Scout's a viable profession - without us, the game doesn't work. Master Scout may not be critical, but the game wasn't designed to force people to master professions. Dabblers are okay here.

But keep asking questions - that's good. Keeps our juices flowing.

I use, er used, forage all the time to feed my pets. It kept them happy and I got a use out of that +3 forage attachment!

Yeah, forage is good for quick snacks for the critters. Also good if you're looking to do some fishing, if you're lucky. In beta I found bait all over Tatooine, for some strange reason...

Back before Chefs were made useful, some foraged foods came in handy for a small boost in a fight, but nowadays they're far too stomach filling to be useful for players given their very short buff duration times.

Ok stoopid question. I can never find anything when I forage.... looking for fishing bait. Anything I should be doing?
