Vertexon,
That's a great overview of the basicmechanics, but you didn't include any information about your character's scout skills. Is this at Novice only? Have you and other testers noticed a difference in yield do to skill boxes, and if so which?
Inquiring minds want to know....
Oh, sorry about that.
I was a Master Scout for these tests. Test Center went down just before I wrote that, so I didn't have a chance to try it out at different levels of advancement to see if there would be a difference in yield.
I am puzzled that others are having success milking while following a moving critter. I tried that on half a dozen or more animals last night, and always failed on the next system message event ("The animal has moved..."). I do have some experience with staying close to moving wild animals (
), so I'm not sure what I could have been doing wrong?
Those of you who are milking, keep on the lookout for 'Domestic Milk.' So far only Wild Milk seems to be popping up... but apparently Domestic is a required ingredient for Bantha Butter (I'm serious
).
Vertex,
I think Bols on Dant give domestic. I'll double check.

Coders,
It looks like something anyone can do as long as you've got Scout.
It looks like it's a radial command only- no command line /milk command.

I tried it. You cannot milk a pet. I tried both a plodding falumpaset and a female kaadu. No "Collect Milk" radial menu option on either of them.
You can milk while riding a vehicle, however. Which comes in handy when you're chasing some large herbivore into deep water (though it does seem a little strange to be "milking" from inside a landspeeder).
so wait a minute...you can milk a herbavore....but NOT push buttons on a machine to survey? god this is so weird.....
*scratches head*

I would think that since a humbaba yields domesticated meat, it would yield domesticated milk as well.
But then I would be thinking logically, which disqualifies me for a position at SOE.
Does the amount of yielded milk depend on the milker's Creature Harvesting Skill?
Can somebody test this please?. It makes sense to me that the higher creture harvesting skill u have, the higher the amount of milk u get. Does anybody know if the system takes into account this?.
Eter Solwalker
Naritus Master Ranger/Master Carbineer.
P.S.: I hope the types of cretures u can milk are not bugged and all of them are actually females. Cause if the system doesent take into account if its a female ... welll that may not be exactly MILK you are getting there
.......
CAUTION
WORD OF ADVICE: WATCH THE MOVIE "KINGPIN" SO U CAN SEE WHAT MAY HAPPEN TO YOU IF U ARE NOT CAREFUL OF THE GENDER OF THE CREATURE U ARE ATTEMPTING TO MILK.
